wingshock 05-23-2003, 03:36 PM Thanks for the info! I'm much happier than I was before. :D
Love,
Wing<><
Freakzilla 05-23-2003, 04:02 PM It's good that Wings is included in the marathon. But it's on from 2-6 a.m. Thursday mornings. Meanwhile, The Cosby Show is on every night for an hour at 9 and an additional 4 hours on Mondays and Thursdays. I guess N@N will be running seasons 1-4 on Monday night and 5-8 on Thursday night.
Wings needs to be on in prime-time!
From "Family Guy"
Stewie on Kid's Say The Darndest Things: "I thought this show was called 'Kid's Say The Darndest Things', not 'Old Black Comedians Won't Shut Up!"
Adamantium 05-23-2003, 04:15 PM First off, I'm greatful that Wings will be in the marathon. And I don't like to complain all the time, but Come On! The Cosby Show gets an hour at nine every night. While Wings follows All in the Family. Nick at Nite doesn't have a clue about appreciation for it's viewers. Well, I guess The Cosby Show fans are thrilled beyond belief.
mrsthomashadenchurch 05-23-2003, 05:43 PM I'm night so happy.
1st they put it on so late at night that who is going to watch it.
2nd Wings is only on the 1 night where they have to rest on at least 2 or more night.
Skywalker 05-23-2003, 06:14 PM Not one to say I told you so but, I told you so. Sure it's only 8 episodes a week (10 if you count the weekends) but it's better than no Wings at all.

I'm not going to complain....I just give up!
If you really stop and analyze that summer rundown, WINGS is getting CRAPPED on!
It's only on for one weekly block, and it's the "graveyard shift".....That late hour for a series that hasn't even had one complete cycle of showings on NICK?
I hate to sound defeated by all of this, but I AM. I love WINGS, but I just can't keep putting myself through this. I just don't care anymore WHEN NICK decides to show WINGS....
I'll find out whatever ridiculous hour it's on, pop a blank tape in the VCR and watch the shows at my convenience....
Trying to keep "WINGS" a well-respected, well-watched show is just not worth the aggravation that NICK has caused all of us.

Why don't they try making the whole year pleasurable?! I've never seen a network so schizoid with their constant rescheduling! No wonder I've never watched this network before they had Wings. How do they expect to draw in surfers when it's a different format every night.............that's the way I found out they were even airing Wings episodes.
Looks like they're going into complete VCR mode. Who's going to sit there & watch 5 straight hours of Cosby every Monday & Thursday?!!! The sad part is there's no guarantee when you pop in your Wings recording from 2-6 to watch that it's not going to be some other shows they decided to throw in without notice like what happened recently.

"Traveling around the country?" What kind of P.R. B.S. is THAT all about? Those NICK reps just better not show up in MY town!
You know what I hope? I hope that those traveling NICK reps keep getting stopped by old, annoying "Carlton Blanchard"-type viewers with loads of stupid, pointless questions:
"You know that I've been wondering? If you show 6 episodes of "COSBY" in a row, does that really make it one long 3-hour "COSBY" show? Why do you guys keep showing "COSBY" all the time? You know what show I'd like to see? "My Mother The Car"....How come you guys never show "My Mother The Car"? That was a good show....and the car didn't have to learn all of those dance steps for the opening like the "COSBY" people did....All you had to do was drive the car around!".
Oh yeah, it would serve those guys RIGHT!
Adamantium 05-23-2003, 09:08 PM Mondays and Thursdays you get 10 episodes of The Cosby Show in a row. I swear TCS gets the best treatment of any show ever to be on N@N. Is N@N so insecure that they have to show Cosby Every Single Freakin' Night? I'm with Pilotguy. I give up. I'll just tape the show, then watch them every night at 11pm or something.
The Ironic thing of all, is that this marathing is called "Viewer Appreciation Summer." I don't feel appreciated at all.
spunkygirl 05-24-2003, 12:35 PM I am totally shocked they are showing Wings at all. I am shocked they are even having Family Ties on there too. Both got sucky times.
Supposedly Cosby Show brought their ratings up last year, that's why they show so much of it. But I have read that Bill Cosby owns stock in the co. that owns Nick @ Nite, so you put it together
At least they're showing it is easy to say, but if you think about it, the Wings and FT viewers are getting shafted. I mean Even All In the Family gets good times.
nantucket_wings 05-24-2003, 02:12 PM Heres my 2 cents rolling across the floor, ____O_O______ ... lmao!
Heres a little tip for Bill Cosby ... If you want your show to be aired so much why dont you use your money and buy yourself your own network channel then you can play all your repeats whenever the hell you feel like it

Gee, I thought that's what he DID do with "NICK"!

lol!! "The Family Guy" was hilarious! I loved that show.
and I agree with you. 2-6 AM?! that's a sucky time slot. Well, I guess I'll just be taping it every night..... but it's cool that it does have a marathon timeslot even if it's at 2-6 AM. hehe
Ice Cream Man 05-27-2003, 02:40 AM Geez I bought an Xbox and since it doubles as a DVD player I put the VCR on shelf somewhere, thinking I'd never use it again. Looks like it's time to find it and dust it off. Even though the timeslot sucks bricks I'm glad they're showing it.
Freakzilla 05-29-2003, 03:12 PM If N@N really wanted to have a real "Viewer Appreciation Summer", they could've asked viewers what shows they want to see. Then viewers could pick when the shows are scheduled. I bet that Wings would have a prime-time slot if N@N had done this. But N@N execs know their favorite show might not get a prime-time slot if viewers picked the marathon line-up, despite what the ratings might say.
phoebe7165 06-27-2003, 11:31 PM Yeah, the scheduling sucks for Wings, but at least N@N is showing it. I'll just pop a tape in my VCR and watch them later. At least on tape, I can scan through the commercials!!;) ;) ;) ;)
Chocoholic 07-02-2003, 01:21 PM I'm thankful that they're showing wings at all, but I still think this schedule stinks. The Cosby Show needs a long rest. Wings deserves better treatment.
VWAdam 07-20-2003, 12:58 AM It's not that big of a deal to me. I just pop in a tape and set the VCR accordingly record all 8 episdoes in a row and then watch them at my leasure, and I have them recorded in case Nick pulls the plug.
Flash72 07-20-2003, 04:31 PM Does it not burn the rest of you guys up how Nick cuts into the tag scenes with their own self promotion? With other shows this is not a problem since all we are seeing are the closing credits, but sometimes with "Wings" we are missing little gems in their own right. I have even noticed that they, in their zest to promote their lame arse ads, have starting talking over the closing scenes of other programs. Any thoughts?

It bugs me how networks in general don't seem to bother with closing credits anymore. They use those stupid split-screens and it's so hard to read them.

That's something I hadn't thought of. I just like the music or a comedy scene. I forgot that the ending credits are there for you to read the names of the people who made the episode possible. That's unfair to them.
Freakzilla 07-23-2003, 02:38 PM This stuff with the end credits is bad. If you have The Simpsons or Futurama on DVD, there's some great comments about squishing the end credits so they're unreadable. For Futurama, it wasn't until Cartoon Network started airing it that the real end credits were seen for the most part. Now that's true with a lot of shows once they hit syndication.
Pavan 08-04-2003, 09:49 AM Big news, Viewer Appreciation Summer ends tonight after the Cosby Show/Three's Company block. Starting tomorrow the schedule that was suppose to start August 23, will start a few weeks early, Tuesday, August 5. So Wings returns every night at 1 a.m. until September 21.

Yes, I've just checked NICK's on-line daily schedule, and they HAVE rearranged everything and have gotten rid of the "Viewer Appreciation" block scheduling starting tomorrow night....
What is WITH these people? As my father used to say, "They'd screw up a one-car funeral!".
I'm just glad that I found out about this before tomorrow night, being that I'm now making a serious effort to videotape every "Wings" episode in it's proper order.....MANY, MANY thanks, Pavanbadal!

IMO GOOD! I laughed every time they said viewer appreciation. In no way do they appreciate their viewers if they're not Cosby viewers.
Ratings must have sucked for the VAS.
pilotguy 08-04-2003, 10:58 AM Please don't get me wrong....I'm very pleased that "Wings" is returning to the "Every Night at 1 AM" time slot for the rest of the summer (How bad is THAT when we consider 1 AM "EARLY" for "Wings"?).....
What I have a problem with is the way that NICK constantly changes horses in mid-stream with little or no advance notice to their viewers!
It's a good thing that I found about this time change in time....If I had missed taping tomorrow night's episode (which by the way is Part 1 of a two-parter), I would NOT have been fun to be around!

what? o wow.
ooo now I can go back to taping each night while i watch, and editing out commercials, so i don't use up so much tape!!
thanks for posting that! I would have missed a whole crap-load of episodes! lol! I'm glad I saw this when I did!
Pavan 08-05-2003, 10:14 AM A little note:

spunkygirl 08-05-2003, 11:22 AM What's going on? Three's Co. VAM was on last night. Maybe they gave out wrong info??

Three's Company was suppose to air. Last night was the last night of V.A.S., as I stated before.
losthighway 08-05-2003, 12:59 PM I'm giving up trying to figure out the Nick at Nite schedules. The Nick at Nite site claims Wings will be on all this week at 1:00am EST, but other sites I visited claim it won't be on all week. Plus one TV site acts as if Wings won't be on for part of the week of the 11th to the 15th?? I'm too confused and I give up. All I can is I HOPE Nick at Nite doesn't screw around with Wings yet again.
wingshock 08-05-2003, 01:31 PM Losthighway - I found that I should believe the Nick@Nite site over any other source. N@N changes so frequently that the other sites/TV guides, etc. can't keep up.
losthighway 08-05-2003, 02:48 PM Thanks for the info.:)
I sure hope so, otherwise I fear Pilotguy will be calling Antonio on the suicide hotline.:D
