I just thought I would post this since the board seems to be filled w/ Sam and Diane fans. I just heard a full verson of the song that the old Sam and Diane dance to in "I Do, Adieu" and I thought the lyrics were so appropriate for their whole affair, so I'm posting them FYI.

Gone is the romance that was so divine.
'Tis broken and cannot be mended.
You must go your way and I must go mine,
But now that our love dreams have ended

What'll I do when you are far away and I am blue
What'll I do?
What'll I do when I am wondering who is kissing you
What'll I do?

What'll I do with just a photograph to tell my troubles to?
When I'm alone, with only dreams of you that won't come true,
What'll I do?

*Tears up* ;)

That practically made me cry! I didn't know the lyrics to the song and now that I do... I want to see the unedited version of I Do, Adieu! Nick @ Nite keeps screwing with the episodes but I have to be happy that they're even showing Cheers.

its called "What'll I Do" right? i think i read that somewhere. can u download it offline?

the unedited version of "I Do, Adieu" is actually ALOT longer than the N@N version. i have it on video (from Paramount). alot of first act (until the middle commercial break) is cut out...some important stuff, but some not. the second act is a little better, but only cuz it has the actual ceremony. the song at the end on N@N is cut short about 20-25 seconds on N@N. really, tho, all the unedited version does is fade out slower and takes a little longer for "Created by..." to show up, then that fades out slower.

Yes, you can download it online. The version I have is by Linda Rondstadt and the title is "What'll I do?" :)

Bumping my thread up in honor of "I Do, Adieu" coming on? I still say this is SUCH an appropriate song for them.

Do you really think I subconsciously don't want them together?

Haha he's still trying to argue we're the same person, huh.
Well now we're finally online at the same time! Unrefutable evidence. Unless I'm using two computers right now...

hehe I haven't really read any of your old post, are our opinions really that much alike to make Tim believe we are the same person?

Haha I don't think so. Guess it was just the coincidence of having another Diane fan register right when you had to go.

Does anyone know who performed the version of "What'll I do" that appears on I Do, Adieu? There are thousands (well, I might be exaggerating :) ) of versions of that song! Frank Sinatra, Lefty Frizzell, Chet Baker, Linda Ronstadt, Judy Holliday, Nat King Cole... I haven't seen the episode for a long time so I can't recall exactly who the performer was.

I think it was Sinatra. Don't hold me to that, though.

I have it on my computer, it was by Harry Nilsson (the singer was him, not the songwriter)

:thanks: both slackermonkey and Diane.

I had downloaded some versions by Sinatra and Nat King Cole but they didn't sound exactly like the one on I Do, Adieu. I'll try to find the Nilsson version.

Eh, I took a wild guess. I watched the VHS of it the other day and it sounded Sinatra-esque. But then I don't listen to much Sinatra.

I just saw "I Do, Adieu" once again, only to discover that the tune Sam and Diane dance to is just an instrumental version of 'What'll I Do' --no vocal performance at all. It sounds nicer, though, than the ones sung by Sinatra, Nat King Cole, etc, that I downloaded previously. (I guess Sam & Diane's dancing makes anything sound better :) )

Sorry, I know I should have introduced myself in the "Welcome, welcome" board, but by the time I realized that board existed I had already posted a few messages. I'll leave a message there, anyway.
