What makes a show really work is if the show's main characters, the couple, have chemistry. Roseanne and John Goodman really had chemistry portraying Ro and Dan. They are one of the best tv couples ever.

They did have wonderful chemistry. I beleive they are still friends even after all these years it has been off the air.

What I enjoy, watching the first season currently, is how it had the feel of a fun show. The laughter shared between them, seemed unrehearsed and spontanteuos. I am watching the 1st season more closer, since becoming a new found fan, and I am enjoying it a lot. Shows always go over better when the characters are having fun. I have seen all but the 5th season, the 1st season is very relatable for a lot of people. Just simple common problems and how an avaerage family deals with them.

My family was a lot like the Connors (but not as turbulant) and I loved watching this show as a kid. Roseanne and John Goodman are both great actors and you can tell by the way they carry out their scenes that they really care about one another. I used to wish Dan was my dad...lol Something weird I just remembered: I never would eat creamed corn but then I saw an episode where Dan says that he loves it and I tried it and loved it myself (I was six or seven). LOL
