View Full Version : Another rant about Nick
losthighway 05-22-2003, 01:19 AM OK,
I've reluctantly accepted that nick at nite decided that they desperately needed a Cosby block for a few days because we ALL realize Cosby just doesn't quite get enough air time.
But, what I don't get is why nick at nite feels completely fine about kicking aside the fans of other shows? (mainly Wings of course!!)
First, there is no notice whatsoever that they are going to pull the show for a few days. But what's even worse to me is if you are going to pull the show out of the lineup for 3 days why not just pick up the show where they left off? Instead, 3 episodes are being skipped over, which really screws over people who have never seen the episodes such as Pilotguy. As for myself, even though I have seen the episodes, I was looking forward to seeing "Date Package Number 7", which I hadn't seen in years.
Oh PLEASE, David Lee and Peter Casey, get that Wings DVD package put together pronto! Of course, even if they ever do a DVD release of Wings it will probably just be a compilation of episodes. I doubt they'd ever release all 7 seasons.
Well, to steal a line from Ice Cream Man, time to go back to the cough syrup and a picture of Crystal.
pilotguy 05-22-2003, 06:29 AM I know, and those "skipped episodes" are really CRUCIAL ones....They show how Alex went from a "Get lost, Creep!" attitude towards Brian to actually being his girlfriend....I think that THAT'S certainly worth seeing!
(And any station or network who gave TWO HOOTS about "Wings" would think that they were worth SHOWING!).
Well, being that that "transition" episode is being skipped over, could anyone here who remembers how Alex and Brian DID get together please fill us in? What made her finally fall for "The Wild and Crazy Redhead"?
Thanks!
mrsthomashadenchurch 05-22-2003, 06:54 AM If you notice about them running Cosby these past 2 days is that what they show from 8:00 to 11:00 they show again from 11:00 to 2:00. Do they really need to reshow what they have already show back to back.
Krista2882 05-22-2003, 12:42 PM yeah, i don't know.
it makes me want to say the F word.
AgtSkye 05-22-2003, 06:10 PM I saw yesterday at 9pm Cali time that at least on Friday it will all be over, and they'll show Wings. Hopefully this was only a three night deal. Kinda makes me sad, cause I used to not dislike Cosby, but now I'm all Cosby-ed out, :D

Ice Cream Man 05-22-2003, 06:28 PM What's that word Krista, Flamboyant? Fragfest? Finkleblap? Fring? Foink? C'mon guys we gotta figure out Krista's mystery word. Does it have anything to do with mayonnaise?
Ice Cream Man 05-22-2003, 06:45 PM Well here's my two cents on N@N.
Rant Mode.Enabled = True
Cent 1: They don't care about Wings, or Head of the Class or other shows that we like unless they bring in advertising dollars. Let's not appeal to everyone anymore, only the popular majority. Fact is Cosby brings in money. My sneaking suspicion on the sudden change in programming over the last few days is that it has something to do with advertising.
Cent 2: Buy some gum. Everybody likes gum and it's actually good for your teeth. Don't swallow it. If you do you cannot blame me for any adverse effects. I only said buy some, not swallow some. I ran out ranting steam so I needed filler for cent 2.
RantMode.Enabled = False

Let's see. Brian took Alex on his date package number seven, where she had a great time. Of course she didn't know it was part of the date package. She started to like him, when Helen and Joe laughed at her and told her about the date package. She was mad and tricked him, making him think she liked him. Then Joe and Helen saw how really hurt Brian was so Joe went to Alex on behalf of Brian. She forgave him.
Pretty much in the season premiere, Brian and Alex had just started dating. Brian came home happy and telling Joe how life was great.
pilotguy 05-23-2003, 02:51 AM Thanks for the plot description....
Wow, that "Date Package" episode sounds like a really good one....Too bad that it was pre-empted by a re-rerun episode of "COSBY".....WHICH HAD BEEN SHOWN EARLIER THAT EVENING!
(Oh, don't get me started!)

lol-
rant mode.enabled = true. hehe do you do any computer programming? hehe just curious. that was giving me flashback of school two weeks ago. i don't need that now. i need a break lol.
actually, in Java, that's a boolean statement, so you'd have to have a double ==.
ok, wait, check this out.
class rantMode
{
public rantMode()
{
}
boolean enabled()
{
return true;
else
return false;
}
public static void main(String[]args)
{
rantMode rm = new rantMode();
rm.enabled();
System.out.println("Cosby Show sucks.");
rm.enabled(false);
}
}
and that's your Java lesson of the sday, kiddies.
HELP ME I'M SUCH A DORK!!!!!!!! I'm making java programs for fun! hit me now!

Ice Cream Man 05-23-2003, 10:52 AM Programming is part of my career. And randomness is next to Godliness. Well, it makes you less predictable anyway.
Here's a code snippet for you... It's an example of an infinite loop.
while cosbyshow.sucks = true
<some code here>
wend
Or how about an example of the N@N Showtime interaction module...
For each show in NickatNight.shows.archive
Nickatnight.shows("Cosbyshow").showsperday = 50
Nickatnight.shows("Wings").importance = low
Nickatnight.shows("Wings").respect = low
Next
Krista2882 05-23-2003, 11:13 AM Ice Cream Man- you're awesome! hehe.
and yes, randomness, is next to godliness. hahaha! :lol: that's my philosophy in life also. my friends and I are all very random. I love random people. :loveya:

losthighway 05-23-2003, 01:45 PM LOL Ice Cream man! Good stuff, let me know when you have that VB program ready. Personally I feel Nick has a bug in their programming, and I ain't talkin' about that cheesy promo they run! Somebody just needs to type <end> at the bottom of the Cosby code and get us out of the loop.
Ice Cream Man 05-23-2003, 02:38 PM Amen to that losthighway!
