A friend of mine (who is also a fellow "Wings" fan) told me that he once read in an article that the series "WINGS" was like a baby seal....not too smart, no real impact or effect on society, but awfully cute to look at!

While I personally don't agree with that description (especially the "not too smart" part), I DO have to admit that it IS kind of funny!

Sorry....The message SHOULD have been titled, "Have You Ever HEARD This Description of 'WINGS'"?.

Yes, and let's not forget that strange fantasy you have about throwing the Hackett Brothers fish while they roll around on their stomachs and clap their hands together!

Well, I'll submit that a sitcom isn't supposed to have a "real" impact on society. Come to think of it... has ANY television show ever had a REAL *impact* on society. Popular culture references, sure... but impact society? Come on.

I think that was a funny description though because it was awfully cute!

Love,

Wing<><

Yes, sitcoms DO have a REAL impact on society....What about all of these current sitcoms where a big, overweight, dumb slob of a guy is married to a gorgeous, intelligent wife with a hot body?
There are at LEAST 3 of these things on the networks right now, and it has taught millions of shapely, beautiful women everywhere that it's OK to have low standards...or none at all!

The "pretty boys" of "WINGS" are a thing of the past....Now it's the lazy couch potatoes with the big guts who get the "babes"! :D

Just a comment though... I wouldn't say that because someone is fat that marrying them would be considered a "low standard". There are plenty of good looking people in this world with shallow character and no more personality than a stale donut.

Actually, my message regarding that was in jest. Most of those "heavy guy-hot wife" sitcoms are SO bland and only mariginally (if THAT) funny...plus it's getting to be one of those "If you've seen one, you've seen them ALL" situations.
I thought that even SUGGESTING that those types of TV sitcoms could possibly have ANY sort of real impact on society would be SO ridiculous that it would be laughable.

Before any overweight people here get offended, please believe me....I'm no Roy Biggins, but I could stand to lose a few pounds myself! (Not that I got that way sitting on the couch watching DOUBLE episodes of "WINGS" on NICK...but we'll save THAT for ANOTHER message!) :D
