What's one of your biggest fears?

One I can think of is getting buried alive. Ever since I've seen this one movie where that happened when I was little, the thought has scared me SOO much ever since. :( Ugh, but just being trapped like that *shivers*

Snakes. They terrify me more than anything else in this world. Spiders and stuff don't bother me, but snakes, I cannot stand.

BALLOONS:eek:

OMG, those things scare the crap out of me ever since I was little. Whenever they pop it sounds like someone fired a gun close to my ear. Autistic people get scared to death of balloons.

My biggest fear is never having a boyfriend and I end up being alone for the rest of my life.
Another big fear I have is the fear of public speaking. I can do it if I really have to but I'm still really really nervous when I do it.

My biggest fears are spiders and very extreme heights. Those are my two biggest fears I do have some others, like never finding a girlfriend and being all alone the rest of my life.

Once when I was a kid at a camp in Vermont, a helicopter pilot set his machine down right next to my pals and me. We all thought it was pretty cool. I guess if I'd had a fear of them, I would have headed for the hills. Well, everyone is afraid of something. I'm too embarassed even to share mine.

Do you mean bodies of water, like lakes and the ocean? Do you not like the beach? Swimming pools? Is it a drowning type thing? Don't mean to pry, but I am curious.

Thanks, Melissa. You're never too old to learn to swim, if you have any interest in it.

When this thread started, I considered answering it seriously, and quickly realized that my big fears were all so grim that I just put in a silly post instead.

I am scared to death by being
a) shot with a gun or
b) stabbed with a knife

Also, now that I think about it, I'm pretty claustrophobic.

Not so much as a fear- but I hate it when you get a feeling of insignficance, and you think of everything as very simple- it makes you think of life, and dead bodies rotting beneath the ground. I hate the thought of bodies of people just lying in the ground- I'm not sure what I'd like to happen o me when I die- some people got cremated and their ashes out into space- I'd like that.

I'm also afraid of being buried alive- during the famine in Ireland it happened to someone in the 1870's, then like in the 1980's they found mass graves near our town- and the coffin lid of one had scratch marks and the corpse in a position of trying to escape.

I"m not as bad as I use to be though I USE to not go in boats or anything like that NOW i dont mind that IN FACT some of my favorite rides at Disneyland or Water Rides where you get splashed by water at the end of the ride

Hmm...I can think of a weird one. Remember when 9-11 happened? (someone had to bring it up :p ) Well, that didnt scare me, but since I live right by an air force base, I saw President Bush's plane fly over us, and it scared the crap out of me.

I'm also scared of people breaking into my house at night. I dont care if no one is home...they can do it then since they feel free to anyway, but not if I'm home.

I'm not a strong swimmer- every time I learn to swim just a tiny bit I don't go back again and forget how to swim. I can swim like 25 metres, but can't get back again unless I rest. Which scares the crap outta me- cos on my second day of school in september all the new pupils go to a resort place with different activities- most to do with water, cos the first four days are getting to know everyone. I know most water activities will probbably just be walking through the water and boulder diving (looking for small boulders- i did this and waters only to past your waist, you find a few slides made of rocky in the water and go down em too) but I'm positive we'll probably do some swimming. Well- the first thing they'll get to know is I float like a drowning man and I'm scared of the sea/
