I think THE FACTS OF LIFE is one of the best sitcoms that came from the 1970s and the 1980s. Why are more sitcoms like THE FACTS OF LIFE these days? I am a child of the 1970s -- and I thought THE FACTS OF LIFE was one of the all time best (out of sitcoms that came from that decade). My whole family loves THE FACTS OF LIFE. I think more children of today should be exposure to sitcoms and series of yesterday year. It is a pity that today sitcoms and series has so many horrible standards. I think it is a war against the sitcoms and series of today and yesterday, let the war begin.

I totally agree!! some of those WB network shows are so awful, I mean the dialogue is very rough and rude. FOL was sassy, but sweet, cutting remarks, but said in a cute way, Bubby, Charmed, etc, just cant hold up next to FOL!!!

I was born in 85', so I actually watched some of the reruns on USA in elementary school. But then, there was that big backlash about the 80's.It was all about 'the 80's suck!'
But now I go to school, and the people I least expect to watch the 'facts', they do!
I thought I was weird that I watched the show when it started showing on Nick-at-Nite.
But there are so many other people at my school that watch the show all the time, its awesome.
And yes , I hate all these new shows geared towards teens like me. They should look to the past for some ideas. Well, im just rambling on, so there you go.

Cokies, I totally agree. I'm 13, but I couldn't care less for the shows all the people at my bus stop (I refuse to call them friends for various reasons) watch, like Dawson's Creek, Buffy, Popular, ER, etc. THe only new show I like is Bette, because I love Bette Midler. But other than that, the only shows I like are classic sitcoms, Like Laverne & Shirley, Facts of Life, Happy Days, The Dick van Dyke Show. And people at my school constantly amaze me. Last year in art, I was giving my screen name to someone (At the time it was LMDeFazio) and another person asked what it meant. Then this one girl who sat across from me was like "DeFazio's Laverne, right?" I dunno, maybe it's not that amazing, but barely anybody at my school watches L&S...

"Well, Laverne is sort of childish"
"Childish? Childish? COming from a grown woman who throws tea parties for her stuffed cat!"
"Well at least I don't sew L's on everything I wear!"
"Well that would be pretty stupid considering your name's Shirley!"
