how are you all maturity wise? It seems i have always been more mature than my age. Right now I am fifiten going on sixteen, but I feel like I am 15 going on 26. I've always been like this. I guess it's because I'm an only child so i hang out with more adults, but maybe not. I ahte being in crowds with kids my age, they act so immature. I'm not saying that I don't have my "silly" moments, but most of the time I am the "goodie good" in the group. I am also a lot deeper than most of my friends.

Im 19 and I either act 7 or 25-- I can never act my age. But I dont want to. (Most) kids my age are immature, stupid, and give us good kids a bad repuatation. Im silly and I do act a little crazy-- but I dont get like that from smoking or drinking etc. I'm just easily amused!

Ditto. I know when to call it quits and take it easy... some situations call for different attitudes.

I'm 25. According to friends and family, I've really matured since I got married (which was a whooping two years ago...how time flies) and left home.

I must confess I'm a big kid at heart, though. I still watch cartoons, am an avid lover/collector of all things Disney, and read comic books. I don't feel "grown up". Sometimes I feel like a twelve year old stuck in a 25-year old's body.

I've always been told that I've been mature for my age (14 in a week). I mean, you should see the kids at school compared to me. Holy crap.

Meangya there's a time for silliness and a time for being serious. You just have to distinguish between the two of them.

I've always seen myself as more mature than alot of kids I know at school, but I can be really goofy sometimes...nothing wrong with that, though, really. You have to have fun :p

I'm mature in the way that I know the difference between right and wrong (unlike most other 17-year-olds I know), and I can have a mature conversation with an adult, but I'm immature at heart. I have a hard time taking stuff seriously.

It's odd - when I was in my teens,I was very mature for my age.Now that I'm 35,I act kind of like a teenager - not all the time, but more than when I was a teen,I believe.

Everyone says I'm very mature for my age. I'm also an only child, and I've been around adults alot of my life. I guess that has something to do with it, who knows.

As far as responsibility goes I'm very mature about it. As far as my personality and the way I act I can be quite immature at times. Especially when my nephews are around.

i'm a kid at heart I love Disney and all that it has to offer and heck I am surrounded by kids pretty much 24/7 (at work and with my Niece and nephews at home) I'd say i'm maybe 15 or 16 trapped in a 30 year old body

Same here. I think I am very mature for 17, almost everyone at my school acts very immature, including some of my really close friends. But I also know how to act silly and have a good time, but I do that in a mature way too (ie. no smoking cigarettes or weed or drinking). I am also easily amused, I can get so hyper, that I said one time I'd be afraid to see what I was like high or drunk if this is how I acted when I'm sober.

it depends on the situation- at a rehearsel or board meeting ill act more mature than just hanging out w/ my friends acting kind of crazy.
id say it all evens out.

but i think ive been at the same maturity level for awhile- i was always the one in elementry school who was "7 going on 25" or whatever

Be mature when its neccessary when it calls for being silly be silly.life is to short not to find humor even in the craziest of times. As far as being deep and insightful don't ever apologize for being that way.most people who label you goody, goody is either jealous or thinks being bright and insightful is a negative obviously they are boring uptight people with no imagination or any sense of fun.To be honest what is fun for someone is not fun to others but that doesn't make you goody goody because you are insight and thoughtful and deep, may there be more like you on this earth.celebrate your positives aspects to you and don't let others label you goody, goody because they are small minded people who are emotionally detached from the world.

That's good advice, harper. I have also always felt as a kid that I was like 6 going on 23 or so. I remember in school there would be these school families we had where two or three people in each grade would get together in a group and the younger kids would be partnered up with an older kid. Being in grade 1, I was paired up with this girl in grade 5. Feeling older than I was, I was thinking, Why in the world do I need a buddy? I can make it to the event or activity fine on my own. I've been so mature throughout my life that I was glad when I got to 12th grade and was starting to get treated like an adult. I felt like for the first time in my life I was being treated with respect and as a human being.

It's funny, because often times I'll say that I dislike teenagers, and people will be like, "....but you ARE one!" It doesn't mean I act like one. I am what I would call mature. I definitely see extreme differences between me and my friends...I also think I'm very independent which, I believe, is related somehow to maturity. But then that's probably due to the fact that I basically have nothing in common with most other teens--I have different interests, different hobbies. I hate parties. I really don't like them. In fact, there's actually a party going on at this very minute at my school and I'm not there, because I know if I had gone I wouldn't be having a good time....I'm very anti-social.

Got kinda carried away there......

Everyone I know says I'm mature for my age. I usually don't do anything really wacky because I'm very shy in real life, lol. I always do my work in school and I haven't gotten in trouble within the last three years at all (at least I can't remember getting in trouble for anything, even small things). Sometimes when I'm around my friends I'll be crazier. I feel uncomfortable around some people because they act so much more crazier and easygoing than I do. - shrug -

I've always felt younger than my age, even when I was a little kid. Not really in an immature sense, because I was always a deep thinker, even then. But more like how I relate to people. It just feels like everyone is older than me. Even the 15 yr old taking my order at Mcdonalds seems older than me, to me. Then they call me "sir" and surprise the heck out of me! I'm thinking, "who are you talking to?!" :)

I think I'm more mature for my age. Atleast, I like to think I'm more mature. I don't like parties and I can't stand people who can't be serious. I tend to think deaply about life and it's meaning. But I have a hard time talking about death. Like, I am thinking about becoming an organ donor. But as much as I'd like to, I can't bring myself to telling my family because I know what being an organ donor implies. I've been pretty good at dropping hints, though.

I don't know. Since I'm in my early 20s, we're all mature in different areas. I'm very mature politically, I have definate views on those issues, whereas my best friend in the entire world has been known to misunderstand traffic lights! ;) (okay, slight exaggeration, but you get what I'm saying) I'm still somewhat of a goodie-goodie, but in college that can be considered as immature. I dunno. Some of my friends act like they're 13, some of them act like they're 45. *shrugs* College is confusing ;) I think we're all pretty much on the same wavelength though. :)
