I saw in TIME magazine,yesterday,that some people(mostly teenagers,I guess)are cutting their tongues in half,as a fashion statement.:puke:They're trying to look more like snakes,or something:eek: It sounds just awful - I can't imagine any sensible person doing this,it amounts to self-mutilation,as does a whole lot of piercings and tattoos.Also,they can do serious damage(as if I had to even say that).UGH,how crazy!!

I saw something like that on Ripleys Believe it or Not. This guy was having a bunch of alterations to make himself look like a cat. he is even planning to have a fake tail put on.

This will be like the 21st century's answer to a tattoo- just like drinking is the new smoking, chicken is the new pork- well, maybe not the last one. Seriously though- it wouldn't look cool, and it'll just keep it going for ages in a minority, maybe a big minority like teens with piercings. In twenty years the people would regret it more than right after they slit their tongue and feel the pain- they'd regret it when they have interviews, dates etc- and then a bad influence on their kids.

I get the feeling that people with more than 20 tattoos, and forked tongues, and so on don't anticipate too many interviews for "normal" jobs.

Sick. That's just stupid, probably is bad for their health. And that's perminate, I mean, can you imagine an old man of about 70 with a tounge like that? They'd look pretty stupid, probably wish they hadn't done it. puke:

I have a tattoo that I got about 12 years ago and I regret it almost every single day - and it's not a bad tattoo, it's tiny, it's concealed, it's not obscene, but it's THERE. What would go through someone's warped mind to do something like that to their tongue and how will they feel in 20 years when they are at PTA meetings or sporting events for their kids. Admitting to having a tatoo and hiding it is one thing - that other **** is just pshychotic.

There was a guy one time on Sally Jesse Raphael who was obsessed with lizards. He had his skin tattooed to look like reptile skin, his ears were altered, his tongue was forked - he was gross. His fiancee was there with him and she was this sweet litttle demure girl that you would think make the perfect babysitter. Seh said this guy was so gentle and he was a good guy, that people can't get beyond his appearance to get to know him.

WELL DUHHHHH...I would be too freaked out to get to know him!
