Everytime the cast of a show would stand together on stage such as Welcome Back Kotter, Happy Days, Brady Bunch, etc, they would always cut to a commercial. I never had a chance to see the cast the way they looked today because the commercial came on so fast.

I agree completely. It was ridiculous how much time was spent on all the new stars. I wanted to see the older shows and casts. It was a decent special, but I wasn't all that thrilled with it.

I hated when they did that! I wanted to see everyone's face.

I got disgusted so I changed the channel to Martha Stewart! :mad:

Ughhh, I set my VCR up so I could tape it and then it didn't work. It only taped half an hour of it. Did you get to see the cast of 8 simple rules at all?

Yep, I watched Martha Inc. instead. Judging from the NBC special, I knew I wouldn't miss much. They concentrate too much time on the new stars than the classic ones. :thumbsdow

I agree with you.They also spent too much time on sports.I preferred NBC's 75th Anniversary from last year.

I thought it was remotely alright. Too much time, though, on ABC News (three segments!) and ABC sports (two segments!). I think they could have DEFINATLY done more on the soaps section of it. It was a nice touch having the classic AMC logo in the background though. Here's an idea I had for the soaps section: Show the last 10 seconds of each opening sequence for the ABC soaps, including the logo, then show 2-4 memorable moments from the shows history. ABC only has 8 successful soaps under its belt (General Hospital 1963, Dark Shadows 1966, One Life to Live 1968, All My Children 1970, Ryan's Hope 1975, Loving 1983, The City 1995, Port Charles 1997, and one more if you count The Edge of Night, which switched from CBS to ABC in 1975), so it wouldn't take too much time. As for sitcoms, I think that John Ritter should have presented some classic "Three's Company" clips along with one or two clips from his other ABC shows "Hooperman," "Hearts Afire," and "8 Simple Rules..." I also want to know why they didn't do something for Aaron Spelling. He made the ABC network number one in the late 70s/early 80s. And one more thing: how can you have a reunion for a show that is still on the air coughNYPDcough

Yeah you are right. You missed NOTHING.

Werm they spent too much time on ABC News and Sports..I don't really care about sports, and the news clips were OK. The Sitcoms part went by wayy to fast, and they barely did anything for Three's Company which was one of their biggest hits in their history..and the soap section. Oh gawd. All they showed were General Hospital and All My Children clips, along with two clips from Ryan's Hope and one short short short clip from Dark Shadows. Did they even feature anything from One Life to Live, their second oldest current soap?

I liked how they brought together cast members, and had all of those reunions, but I think they could have done close-ups to see what they look like currently, but all they did was wave the camera and that was all, a similar thing happend like this at the TV Land Awards. Also, when they did the reunions, I noticed some of the cast members were missing, so I did get the chance to see them either.

But I like how they showed all the clips from their classic tv shows, past and present, but they could have focused more of their shows, back in the past. I think the special was okay overall but it could have been better.

I'm now officially sick of Jennifer Garner. I don't care about her or the stupid show of hers THAT THEY SHOVED IN MY FACE!!!! And why not call it a celebration of NYPD Blue??? No game shows segment, no talk of The Odd Couple....damn this stupid special.

Once again I was expected too much and came away disappointed. I was hoping for a three hour celebration of ABC's glorious past, not an evening primarily devoted to their current crap, er crop, of shows. Like everyone else, I hated how the so called cast reunions were incomplete and far too quick, it was definitely a blink and you would miss it glorified cameo appearance. Also, I was hoping that we would see more clips and cast members from such 70's ABC hits as "Charlie's Angels," "Fantasy Island," and "Six Million Dollar Man." Instead, for the most part all we got were a fast arse look at the shows' logos.

The only parts that I enjoyed were: Peter Falk's bit with the Ali ass cast and seeing Lee Majors representing "Big Valley. Also, from what I could tell, it was nice to almost see some classic tv cast reunions. When will I learn that any anniversary show for a network will ignore what truly made that network, in favor of their present so called ratings winners?
