Look how high the ratings were when the show premiered and look how slowly theyre going downhill. Thats a bad sign and next year isn't gonna be any better I don't think, American Idol is returning, that new Jag Spin off is coming out and I bet thats gonna be really popular and who knows "Whoopi" on NBC might do really good too. I'm worried

I'm very worried...I blame it completely on American Idol! lol i mean come on...there already is an American Idol...Kelly Clarkson!!! haha:p

wait a second...I just looked at those and they're not all that bad! there's only a few that are low...and most of the low ones are re-runs anyways...so I don't think we have anything to be too worried about...8 Simple Rules is one of ABC's highly valued sitcoms...BUT AMERICAN IDOL NEEDS TO GO! lol

I think its very very very stupid that American Idol is coming back. okay for example, in the first one lets say in New York 5000 people tried out (I'm just guessing here, but they did mention this on the First or second episode of AM2) then in the second one almost 4 times as many people tried out so that means whoever didn't try out the first time got theyre chance now. So that means there isn't gonna be very many people left who haven't tried out and got Cut. so I think next year we're gonna have some very crappy singers.

Aw, I love American Idol right now. I do wish it wasn't against 8 Simple Rules, though, because that means I have to miss AI for the first half hour. Maybe 8SR will do well this summer, ratings wise?

No need to worry. American Idol is not on the fall line-up (it returns Jan '04), only the kiddie edition is. I am betting that will not do as well as American Idol. So expect 8 Simple Rules to do great again this fall, even JAG is not against it! JAG moves to Fridays this fall and Whoopi will be dead as fast In-Laws.

It should be a solid #1 or #2 in it's timeslot among viewers 18-49 this fall and maybe if the JAG spin-off doesn't do as well as JAG, a solid #1 overall in the timeslot. There is no way Whoopi is even going to come near 8SR.

Thanks for the reassurance Pav! 8 Simple Rules should do good according to you, and you're normally pretty good with these things...I don't really know much about Whoopi's sitcom so I can't really make any predictions based on that. I HOPE 8 SIMPLE RULES IS HERE TO STAY THOUGH!!!:happyface

As much as I like AI, i think that they should switch slots. AI should stay at 8, while 8 SImple Rules should go to 9 PM, or on Wed or something...

I don't watch AI but i know 8 Simples rules will pull through, Don't worry guys ;)

yup, it will pull through. ABC will make sure it pulls through. Look at how much faith it has in it!

The ratings dont look bad at all..only a few times it was low.
