All I can say is OMG! I thought tonights season finale was a heart stopper! The producers/writers sure did have me fooled, I thought for sure JJ would be found at Beth's - I never gave Uncle Pete a thought! What do you think happens to Sam? Do you think that Nathon speaks up and tells everyone that Pete actually tried to save him? The other cop just was reacting to the situation involving a fellow officer and shot in his defense. I am wondering if the fellow dies(can't remember his name at this moment)I felt so bad when they showed the Pryor's store burning down.I am wondering what this does to Sam and Meg's friendship. Had to chuckle at Helen smoking in a stressful situation - been there done that one myself! Now...heres hoping the summer goes by fairly quickly for the next season.
Hugs to all...Joy:wave:

All I can say is WOW!! I never thought that the season finale would be that good. I felt Meg's terror when she was near the riots. I loved it when Michael stayed with Roxanne. I wanna know what happens to Sam and Nathan!! Too bad all that had to happen on Meg's sweet sixteen party. I'm sad that the season is over. And, I cannot wait until the fall for the start of the next season!!

It was really good. I wonder if JJ will go through with joining the marines? I had such empathy for JJ,Jack, and Henry when they saw the store burning anf thought that Meg and Sam were in there. (At least I think they thought they were in there). Very touching epsiode. However, i didn't like the fact that they had helen smoking.

WOW!!! What an amazing, breathless hour of television! That was outstanding. The writers outdid themselves, and the acting was excellent! I felt everyones emotions. How in the world are we gonna wait till next year to find out what happens?

I was watching what was going on with those riots.Like the characters on the show eyes wide and mouth open. That was horrible what went on.Good finale though.Im glad Meg is okay and nothing happened to her.Sam pratically saved her in the store and stuff.Jumping on her when the thing went threw the window. It was nice of Michael to stay put with Roxanne since she was trapped there and it was nice of Beth to hun Patty when Patty was scared but didn't want to admit it.That almost made me cry.I can't wait for Season 2 from Vange :D :)

Hey everyone... I'm new here, but of course, a huge American Dreams fan.
I totally agree with the finale... oh my god!! I seriously never thought a tv show could be that intense!! It was absolutely brilliant. The best one of the season (and I had no idea Luke was going to be on... nice addition I thought ;)
I am definately excited for next season... I don't think I'm going to be able to wait until the fall (I too hope the summer goes by fast). I can't wait to see what happens. Does anyone know if they're going to release the first season on dvd? I hope so... I have a few episodes taped, and I think I'll be watching those all summer! Ta!

The best episode by far!! I would just stare at the tvwithout realizing that i was. i was really into it. i really loved this episode. i really liked how sam tried to comfort meg(when he put his hand on her hand) and how he kinda looked out for her. it was sad to see the pryor store being burned down. what an amazing episode. I hope JJ stays on for next season and i hope he doesn't get killed off... Did ne one catch JJ when he got out of the shower? his body was all wet n sexy... ok neway(sorry i just had to type that) i liked how they did it in the begining. i thought it was really neat. It occured to me what JJ stood for. I think its John Junior.... cuz when Helen n Jack were fighting she had called him john, and i was like but thats not his name and my mom was like jack is short for John... and when helen called jj jack(i was like umm... jacks not here) i firgured it out. ne way i have to bounce... but this was a great episode!! can't wait till next season!

The episode was fantastic. Best one of the season. I just couldn't believe how intense and real it was. This show is one of the best in the entire season, and thank god NBC renewed it through next season.

I'm still in just shock over the finale, it was great, it was just fantastic.

I dont think that JJ will go, he could fail the physical cuz if he cant make the team, do you think he will go to war?

but when the store was burning down and the riots were going on, I was like "OMG!" and my mouth was wide open and my eyes were like in shock, wow such a powerful episode *so glad tht i didnt miss this episode* I love sam, he is such a sweet heart and Nathan has a good heart, he is just hanging around with the wrong crowd, go uncle pete!!! and even though there was not very much of Roxanne, I loved her scene with Joe Lawerence!!

wow. im sure Meg will remember her sweet 16 forever. I thought this episode was really great. I think that Meg and Sam are real good together, that was sweet how he was protecting her and when he put his hand on hers. Nathan probably wont speak up and say Pete was trying to help him, he will just be amd that Willie Taylor was shoot. That really sucks that Jacks new store got burned down, i bet Henry was even more dissapointed. I think Rox and Michael are good together too and im gald that he stayed with her.

The end was sad with Meg in the police car and Sam watching her go. you know she probably wanted to be with him at that point.

:welcome: to the boards!! :D

I think the first season is going to come out on DVD in July. Check out one of the old posts I started when the show first started called "American Dreams on DVD?" That might be a rumor, though. I don't know exactly for sure. But, I hope it does. I will definately be buying it, even though I have some of them taped, too.

:eek2: WOW!! I can't believe this episode!
I've got to totally agree with whoever said they liked the beginning. The way they had it with the clocks and stuff in slow motion was brilliant. But wow, the riot part was the most amazing. I can't remember the last time I've been so emotionally involved in a TV show. I didn't ever realize how serious the race riots were. History textbooks just don't do them justice. The parts with Sam were so good. I'm glad that he and Meg are friends again, even if they never actually said they were. I loved it how he put his hand over hers- very symbolic of the two of them overcoming the race issue. The end was absolutely heart-wrenching when Pete dragged Meg away. I wonder if Willie dies. And I wonder what happens when Meg gets home and how her relationship with Sam goes on. And I wonder (maybe I missed it) if Roxanne even knew that her best friend was stuck in all of that. I can't wait until the next season!!

and when Helen said, "Jack be careful" when she was talking to JJ, that was such a touching moment for some reason, anyone else feel moved when she said this, or am the only weird one out there?

Yes, I felt very moved when Helen called JJ Jack. JJ stands for Jack Junior. I figured that out the last time they called JJ Jack.
