where was everyones first job (besides babysitting)...

Working in the Scarsdale Public Library shelving books and fetching periodicals from the basement. I made an astonishing 90 cents an hour. However, I soon showed promise and they raised it to a dollar an hour. I did manage to save enough to buy a TV set (in those days most TVs were B & W and not quite as expensive as today). The worst thing I ever did on that job was to come in one day, sign myself in and out simultaneously, then walk to the back of the library, jump out the window, and meet a friend at a Mothers of Invention concert in Greenwich Village.

I worked for a local newspaper. I started when I was 15 for $3.35 an hr under the table. I would help bundle up newspapers and load them onto trucks. We would work all kinds of crazy hours and you wouldn't believe all the wierdos that would come and work there.

havent had one yet. ive filled out a million applications though. Hopefully i will soon be getting a job a hotel that just started hiring

Good luck with the hotel job. It's nice to have pocket money that's not dependent on parents.

Well, I have never had a job before, so I really couldn't answer that question. Helping out around the house is my job(if you can call it a job).

Working @ Shaws as a cashier (www.shaws.com :D). Got it in October 2001- I was a senior in HS. Blah... Im still there!!! I miss babysitting. $10/hr just for watching TV and playing with the kids. They were so well behaved!

I've never had a job, but I couldnt drive to it even if i did have one.

I started out in child care and i'm STILL in child care *sighs* I think its time for a new job

My first job was delivering flyers for the Leader Post which I started in April 2002 and I recently just quit last Friday. It's time for me to find a job that pays me more than $88 a month. And, besides the flyers really affected my balance and my left shoulder was hurting a lot, anyway.

When I was sixteen I got a job at a local sporting goods store.
I actually worked there for many years, at a couple of their stores.
The pay was horrible, but after a few years I pretty much made up my own schedule and worked when I wanted to.

I'm still waiting for my first job. I've been trying to find one for the summer, but there isn't crap around here

yah, Im looking for my first paying job (other then babysitting) cuz I do stuff for community service like I have worked at a hospital, but hopefully I will get a job where its my first choice and not have to resort to workin at CVS

I volunteered at an animal shelter last summer, but only so I could get into NHS (community service was one of my requirements.) I haven't had a paying job yet, but I'm looking.

I've been at my first job for almost a year now. I sack groceries at Albertson's (I hate it soooooooo much!). I'm thinking about finding another job first before I quit.

I haven't gotten my first job yet, but I am planning to this summer.
I'll most probably be working at BR scooping icecream and such. (Watch by the end of August I'd gain like 10 pounds. ;))

I'm starting my first job in about a month. My last few jobs have been under the table "paid in cash" job. My first job was umpiring for Little League when I was about 13. THis summer, I'm working at a camp which I attended for many years. It should be fun, but I make next to nothing... :(

I was a paperboy for a year when I was 12. I made about $20 a week.

Working at my aunts store at the register, and working afta shcool at mym moms office

I really hope I get hired because I need a job but I dont wanna jinx anything, im so superstitous
