Okay, I have a question for all you budding psychology majors out there. Help me figure out if I'm a few gears short of a ten speed...
My roommate and I get a lot of the same catalogs. Just about all of the time they arrive on the same day.
For some reason, I will only read the catalog that has my name on the label. It's the exact same catalog as my roommate's, but I only read the one addressed to me.
Is this some sort of obsessive/compulsive-anal retentive/ate his liver with fava beans and a nice Chiante/ quirk I should be worried about, or should I just forget it and continue with my life?
Please, don't e-mail me any ink blots. They all look like bats to me...

It sounds like you are very "territorial". I'm not sure what I mean by that!
Anyway, You are subconsciously respecting other's property. And THAT means "leave my stuff alone too! "
Respecting other people's property is a GOOD THING, right?
I really don't know what I am trying to say. Does this make any sense at all?
Just call me Dr. Lane!

 Maybe your mama taught you right when she said its illegal to read other peoples mail. Or perhaps you get a thrill out of getting mail that isnt a bill because you dont get tons of mail. Hmm.. I dunno!

I'm with you on this one. I wouldn't read any else's mail, no matter what it was. If your roommate leaves catalogs or magazines out on the coffee table, obviously for people to read, then it's okay. Victoria's Secrets catalogs I suppose, ;).
I'm a privacy freak. When I have company over and one of their teenage kids want to use my computer, I politely say no. All my e:mails and stuff, (NO pornography, lol) is on my computer, and I'm real buggy about that.

Please seek help at once. If you cannot afford a psychiatrist, please try an emergency hotline.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm bad, I know.

I wouldn't worry about it, everyone has their own little quirks. They are what make us different. :)

I get similar catalogs through the mail but, I hand out the mail and just give it to the person it belongs to. Once in a while I''ll skim the catalog just because I happen to have it in my hand.

That looks like a Phoenix Bat rising up from an inkwell.

I agree with everyone, There's really nothing wrong with not wanting to look at the catalog cause it wasn't addressed to you. I'd say that you are being considerate.

I have this thing where I think everyone else's mail is more interesting than mine (since all I get are college brochures and stuff addressed to "Occupant"), so I read theirs instead of mine. Maybe I need to be analyzed...
