2:00AM to 6:00AM - Three's Company

Tuesdays:

*gasp* Oh my, my eyes must be betraying me. AITF and 3's Company on so many times. I'm shocked. I'm literally speechless.

Okay, since I got my little sarcastic streak out, if N @ N changes the above schedule for AITF and 3's Company(taking days away), someone can come and personally kick my ass. I think I made a sarcastic remark about AITF being on some marathon and they decided not to air it during the marathon. I think it was that fashion marathon from awhile back.

This line-up totally SUCKS! Nick at Nite is getting worse and WORSE every year.

:sigh: The only thing worth watching on Nick-at-Nite nowadays are the commercials. :sigh:

Looks Pretty Good. I Just dont understand why they are still keeping the 9 PM Cosby Show Hour. Why does this network air that show so much?

I'm not surprised, I had a feeling we would see more of The Cosby Show each night, atleast it's better than last year where they showed two airings of Kids Say, The Dardest Things from Sunday-Thursday. I think the only night I probably will be watching is on Friday night, I can't believe they will be giving Three's Company a 10:00PM-2:00AM time-slot, I will definately looking foward to that, last year all it had was one time-slot at 2:00AM-6:00AM on Tuesdays. I also like the Three's Company time-slot on Mondays, but I don't think I will be staying up to watch them.

I think "Viewer Appreciation Summer" is going to be better than "Summer Camp".

This line looks decent, which is the best I can say about N@N. The only thing that would make it better is if Wings replaced one of the night marathons of The Cosby Show. Wings might actually do better in the ratings during the summer, without having to go up against new shows and war coverage.

well.....its not like i was expecting much. I am happy about Friday nights tho. Cheers didnt get as much aire time as you would think, The way Nick At Night plays the Cosby Show is sick.

The schedule does seem familiar doesn't it? I'll probably just sit this one out except for occasional "Archie's" and "Trippers", if at that.

Now on the other hand, Hallmark Channel has been showing a decent 70s show called "Quincy M.E.". A one hour drama that takes you into the world of a forensic scientist. I'd have to say that Nick at Nite could sure use more of this variety in their situation comedies. Amen.

I may have to lower the grade on the old Nick at Nite report card. A summer to introduce this channel to viewers and what do they do? Show the same thing as they have months earlier. Oversaturation is bad. Very little imagination went into this lineup.

Um, I'm veering way off topic here. Anyway, Robert I really love reading your posts. When you talk about the N @ N or TNN report cards, I just can't help laughing a bit. The things you say are so true, but you add that humor factor to your post.

The only reason I'm able to, usually, catch Perfect Strangers, Head of the Class, and Family Ties, is because I'm up by the time they air on the west feed on Dish (PS starts at 6:00 AM Central, work from there)

IF it wasn't for that....

Honestly, I've got no objection to N@N showing late 80s/early 90s shows, but, they've got to learn diversification (I can think of a few other networks with that problem). Between what airs on N@N, what airs on TV Land, and what they have the rights to but don't air, they've got enough to program multiple networks. Why not mix things around a bit.

According to TV Guide, the first Friday night at 2am (early Saturday) will be Sanford and Son, not Family Ties, as Pavanbadal has posted. I wonder if this was a last minute change or if TV Guide is incorrect.

Why doesn't N@N just burn all their copies of Family Ties? That way, they won't have to even deal with it.

Really N@N, if you wanted to stick SAS into the marathon, why didn't you just replace that second hour of Cosby, Cheers, or Three's?

I'm not a fan of Family Ties and even I think this sucks. I mean TV Land already shows Sanford and Son. Why does N@N have to show it as well? Besides, I HATE Sanford and Son. I bought the DVD's thinking I could get into the show, but I just couldn't.

I just hope Wings stays on Wednesdays. I think N@N really does like Wings, but due to the ratings feel they have to hide it in the lineup. If they didn't like it, why would they call it a Modern Classic?

As for the above post, I agree. They should replace their second blocks of either Cosby, Cheers, or Three's Company. Not Family Ties. Give that show a chance.

That's pretty much what I said on the Sanford and Son board. I know I should feel all happy about Sanford being included, but I know it's not right. Sanford and Son has so many timeslots on TVL. Family Ties has one dinky little time slot, and I would be surprised if anybody stays up and watches it that late. I know many were prob. looking forward to that FT marathon. Yeah, I know it was still pretty late, but it's still would be a marathon.

*Note, I am a big Sanford and Son fan, but I'll say upfront the Family Ties fans are getting the short end of the stick.*

I'm so irritated at N@N right now, I could scream. Family Ties is my favorite of the N@N shows, so I guess this isn't much of an appreciation summer for me, is it? I just hope when some of my favorite shows which are supposed to start airing on N@N in the next year, like Full House, don't get the shaft so N@N can show Cosby Show over and over again.

Probably because it's their highest rated show. If I ran a network, and had a show that brought in the kind of ratings Cosby brings in, I'd air it in the best possible spot as well. Of course alot of people feel that N@N playing Cosby so much is overkill, which may be true, but lets face it, they've been airing it for close to a year, and it still is apparentaly getting phenomenal ratings. I say the smart thing to do is to milk that show for all it's worth. I don't think you should worry too much though. With the 4 new shows that are coming to N@N in the next few months, Cosby probably wont be in primetime for much longer.

Just Once I'd like to see the show we want to see. If I was working at Nick at Nite I'd Air: Facts of Life, Head of the Class, Family Ties, Perfect Strangers, Alf, Just the ten of Us, My Two Dads, Growing Pains, Charles In Charge, just to name a few.

Nick at Nite is supposed to be Modern TV Classic's , right?

Then why are they showing, All in the Family? I know there are some of you who like that show but I'm Sorry, I don't and Frankly I'm tired of it being everywhere I turn around. I'd like to see it disappear for at least a good 10-20 years.

I'd like to see the shows I want to see, not the shows they want to see.

It's to bad Ted Turner doesn't own the rights to these Shows cause if he did they would probably get as much air time as saved by the bell. (which he still airs)

Anyway, I'm just blowing off some steam after looking at the line up.

I agree about All in the Family. I mean it's a good show and all, but now that N@N has moved to the 80's & 90's, AITF doesn't fit in. Neither does "Three's Company." I'd love to see ALF and most of the above shows that you listed come. I can't see how N@N calls it Viewer Appreciation Summer. That ticks me off more than anything. And about the "Cosby Show" hour every night, I don't care about the ratings. I am so tired of that show. And I don't even watch it. Just by turning past N@N, I've seen every episode. Litterally every time I turn to N@N it's The Cosby Show. And now they've picked up another show I despise, Sanford and Son for the Summer marathons. Which I don't see why they can't just leave that to TV Land. One day, I'll become President of N@N and then things will be different. Oh, will they be different.

Every night, I would stay up 'til 4 for my Perfect Strangers and Head of the Class. Most of the time, I had morning classes later that morning, thus, I would get a grand total of 2 hours of sleep. Finally, school is out, and I get to sleep as late as I want. Thanks N@N, for wonderfully ruining my summer.

Eh, I guess I still have weekends...and the Sanford and Son is a nice addition to the line-up, as I don't get TVL. So, lose some, add some...I guess.

Yeah, I really hate how both "Perfect Strangers" AND "Head of the Class" get the "summer shaft" here---not to mention "Family Ties", too!

Personally, I'd gladly give up "Sanford & Son" for one of those---or less "Cosby"---I loved the show, but c'mon, even I admit that enough is ENOUGH!

What they did with Family Ties and Sanford & Son is just Sad. If they had switched out any of the 2nd blocks (Including the 2nd TC & AITF ones), or had originally put Coach in the slot, and pulled IT out, I wouldn't be as upset, but to put in one of the "Back" shows (PS/HotC/FT/KSTDT), then switch it out for something they don't even regularly air, is absurd.

IMO, if I were doing this, just using the shows which appear on N@N nightly, and using what appears to be the standard programming logic, I'd:

*Give back the 9-10 PM ET hour to Nick for the duration of the summer. It's not like there's any real way to program 2 shows into 9 hours neat and tidily, so chop off an hour.

Swap Out the Following Things:
Monday:
2:00 AM - Head of the Class in for Three's Company

Tueday:
2:00 AM - Perfect Strangers in for All in the Family [this gets better]

Wednesday:
2:00 AM - Family Ties in for Wings [Trust Me on this]

Thursday:
10:00 PM - Wings in for Cosby Show [Told you to trust me]
2:00 AM - Coach in for Cheers

Friday: Wouldn't Change a Thing

Weekends:
Sanford & Son Replaces the 12:30 AM Cosby Show, and something (Go fishing at TV Lang) replaces Kids Say. Heck, give the slot back to Family Ties

Here's how I'd schedule the marathon.

Note, this is NOT real. This is simply my schedule idea.

Mondays:
9:00 The Cosby Show
9:30 The Cosby Show
10:00 The Cosby Show
10:30 The Cosby Show
11:00 The Cosby Show
11:30 The Cosby Show

Tuesdays:
9:00 Three's Company
9:30 Three's Company
10:00 Three's Company
10:30 Three's Company
11:00 Three's Company
11:30 Three's Company

Wednesdays:
9:00 Wings
9:30 Wings
10:00 Wings
10:30 Wings
11:00 Wings
11:30 Wings

Thursdays:
9:00 Cheers
9:30 Cheers
10:00 Cheers
10:30 Cheers
11:00 Cheers
11:30 Cheers

Fridays:
9:00 Family Ties
9:30 Family Ties
10:00 Family Ties
10:30 Family Ties
11:00 Family Ties
11:30 Family Ties

Every Weeknight Following the Marathons
12:00 Coach
12:30 Coach
1:00 All in the Family
1:30 All in the Family
2:00 Perfect Strangers
2:30 Perfect Strangers
3:00 Head of the Class
3:30 Head of the Class
4:00 The Cosby Show (Just Because N@N can't go without...)
4:30 Cheers
5:00 Wings
5:30 Three's Company

The only reason I didn't include PS and HOTC in the marthons is because N@N seems to only have a few episodes. So there's no need for marathon blocks. There is also no need for two marathon blocks per night.

Tell MeAbout it, This Year it Sucks.
I was actually kinda looking forward to it because Since it was the shows that come on late at night last year, I was thinking that Perfect Strangers andHead of Class of course Family Ties would be in it.

Besides the Ep'sI have seen on Nick at Nite, Ihaven't seen HOTC since it aired on newtwork TV and I was looking forward to catching them again.

Looks Liek that won't be Happening Though, This Year Anywy.

Yeah, Family Ties was originally on the "Viewer Appreciation Summer" schedule, until they decided to replace it with Sanford and Son which dosen't belong on Nick at Nite because it's a TV Land show, and it already runs on there four times a day. I think as they add new shows to Nick at Nite, they'll probably not even think about keeping Family Ties on the regular schedule. I was also surprised that Perfect Strangers and Head of the Class wasn't on their annual summer line-up, but I think the reason why it wasn't incorparated in their schedule was because currently they are making the episodes into digital copies, and I don't think they would have enough episodes to last the whole summer.

Atleast next year they'll have a little more variety, by then they'll have Roseanne, Full House and Who's the Boss added to the annual summer line-up.

This is what I predict what their annual summer marathon will look like for next year.

Monday:

10:00PM to 2:00AM: The Cosby Show
2:00PM to 6:00AM: Who's the Boss

Tuesdays:

10:00PM to 2:00AM: Roseanne
2:00PM to 6:00AM: All in the Family

Wednesdays:

10:00PM to 2:00AM: Cheers
2:00PM to 6:00AM: Family Ties

Thursdays:

10:00PM to 2:00AM: The Cosby Show
2:00PM to 6:00AM: Wings

Fridays:

10:00PM to 2:00AM: Full House
2:00PM to 6:00AM: Three's Company

I'm not sure if it did bad, but I guess it did. Now because of this change, they are airing more new Head of the Class episodes this week, Thursday to Sunday, check the Head of the Class board. Now the new Perfect Strangers episodes that were scheduled for late August and early September will be moved up to week of August 11 or so, because of this change.

Folks, if anyone needs me, I'll be picking up a 10-pack of tapes. Dangit, I'm gonna stockpile the late-nighters (Mainly HOTC, since it leaves next month) while I can

And who knows when they'll have a mood swing and can PS....

Low ratings.....Guess the viewers *didn't* feel apperciated this summer.

Maybe this is a sign that viewers are starting to feel burnout of the SOS (Same ole.....you get the picture).....

This could be a good thing.

Well, I'll use this space to throw in an additional comment I made on the HOTC board:

I'm glad that someone with some sense got a Nielsen box. Maybe ratings for Cosby will dip, they'll rearrange the sched, and HOTC will stay....

Nah, that's asking too much.
