I got thinking last night (at work)
and won't a reunion special pretty
much match up with Rob and Laura's 50th wedding anniversary? The show
was first filmed in January '61
and Ritchie was five years old.
I think you could reasonably place
the wedding at maybe 1954 and
that might match up when the
special would be shown. Mary was
seventeen when her son was born,
Laura got married at seventeen,
and Mary's gonna be 67 in December.
That's 50. And it seems like that
would be a nice event to put in the mix while Rob's trying to come up with Alan's eulogy. Seems like it's
ripe for some funny and touching
conversations. Of course, Carl
Reiner know best there. But, I
wonder if that 50th thought
crossed his mind. Am I wrong,
or do the numbers match up?

That sounds right to me! That makes me think that it would be perfect for Carl to use my idea of having them renew their vows. I had just figured he could fudge the numbers to make it a milestone anniversary, but according to what you're saying, he wouldn't have to! Are you listening, Carl?? LOL

Samme,
That's some of the best DVDS detective work I've seem posted on this board! You are right on target and I'll bet that slipped by Carl. I told Kristen she was a genius, and that idea was a goldmine, and that she should email it to Carl weeks ago, but I had no idea how relevant it would be.
I'd love to see a renewing of the vows between Rob and Laura for their 50th wedding anniverary, with their grandchild(ren) in attendance (despite all of the comical mishaps that could occur around planning a wedding)! It would bring our gang full circle, and give me that warm, fuzzy feeling all over.
