I just got laid off from Walmart today by my punk ass supervisor. He said i wasn't moving fast enough putting the freight on the shelves. I was a overnight stocker stocking products on the shelves. I think i did the best i could. He said he needs somebody that's gonna move 90 miles a hour & slow down to 20 miles a hour at the end of the day. Well i have news for him, he's not gonna find anybody that's gonna move that fast. If ya'll could see how many pallets they would bring for me to stock. Not only do i have to put the products on the shelf in the hardware department, i had to also do sporting goods department & sporting goods usually has like 3-4 pallets also like hardware. My supervisor also went to the loading dock last night & told the unloaders that if they didn't work more harder unloading the trucks, he was gonna fire them. Ever since i started the job at Walmart, they've been firing people. A lot of the people who were at the orientation with me when i first started the job have been fired for numerous reasons. I don't think i'm ever gonna get me a job as a stocker ever again cause the supervisor's be wanting u to move too damn fast. I ain't Superman LOL.

Oh meangya- tell him to shove it up his pallet #4. It sucks- you shouldnt have been fired for that. If anything, he shouldve just spoken to you and gave you some suggestions or whatever. I bet he's young right? Young supervisors tend to act like King Sh*t.

It was a older white guy who fired me. This mu*******a would come over to my area & check my pallets everyday to see how many empty pallets i have so he can see how many pallets i've done so far. His name is Chuck & he gets off on writing people up & firing people. Mostly all the employees working overnight don't like him. He called the unloaders into his office last night & told them if they don't pick up their speed on unloading the truck, they were gonna get terminated. I hadn't even gotten past my 90 days yet. I had a feeling i was gonna get cut loose soon. I just had a gut feeling cause it never fails. Everytime i get started at a job for a few weeks or few months, next thing i know i'm getting laid off cause of my work performance. How fast do these supervisor's be wanting me to work? Like i said i ain't Superman & i ain't gonna bust my ass 90 miles a hour just to impress them. As long as the work gets done, that's all that should matter. This young white guy who i used to work with at Walmart got fired by Chuck & the white guy cussed out Chuck & told him he would beat his ass hahahahahahahahahahaha. So the white boy waited for Chuck to come out to the parking lot & Chuck called the police on him with his scary ass LOL. Chuck looks like he's scared to fight somebody. He probably doesn't have a woman to go home to. Most supervisors that are b*****s don't have a social life cause nobody likes them.

It's so funny that I worked at Wal*Mart for 8 years and know that this above garbage is not their procedure at all. You must apparently be leaving out all sorts of information.

I did not like working there and I would never work there again but I know after that long how things worked.

You aren't telling the entire story.

I am telling the truth about what happened. I didn't leave out any information. What makes u think Walmart is special just cause u worked there 8 yrs & u didn't get fired? U must've been one of those fast workers then cause i obviously wasn't a fast enough worker for them. I don't think he appreciated my work either. I always came to work on time & never missed any days. It's other employees there that come in late & just because they've been there longer than me, they get treated differently. It's also other employees there who aren't busting their ass & working fast. He hasn't fired them yet but knowing Chuck, he probably will be firing some more people. It's hard to find good employees nowadays. So u should keep a employee who comes to work everyday & does his or her job whether they're slow or fast. Stocking & unloading trucks is a very demanding job though cause u always have a lot of freight to unload & stock so u always have to be fast. Stocking just isn't my thing. I'm gonna have to find another profession that doesn't cause for me to move all fast.

Sorry to hear that. It's too bad there's bosses in the world who can't appreciate workers who try to get the job done.

I know Lisa loves and swears by WallyMart, but there are so many horror stories about it. It's not suprising you lost your job there--and it's probably better that you did: they are in so much terlit water about not giving Workman's comp or benefits if you get hurt or injured on the job. I've been there, labor jobs are not fun. You deserve something better.

WALMART CAN GO TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET!!!!!!! I worked there in 2000 and had a severe panic attack and had to walk out, I'm still having anxiety issues because of the hell I went through there and I refuse to work in retail ever again.

Anybody on here been fired a lot from their jobs? I probably hold the record for getting fired from so many jobs or getting laid off from temp agencies. Man i tell u, finding a 9 to 5 is rough & keeping a job is rough. These supervisors be on u about the littlest things & they watch your every move especially if you're a new employee. I ain't never gonna be able to retire & live good if i continue the way i'm going which is losing jobs. Only job i've ever kept the longest is a part time cleaning job i had for 4 yrs. I would really really like to get into the entertainment business doing something but i don't know where to begin. I wanna do something in music like a radio dj while i'm still young. I don't wanna wait until i'm in my 30's to try & do something cause it'll be too late by then if i keep messing around with these punk ass menial jobs & these b***h ass supervisors who get their nuts off firing people. I've always been a good hard worker wherever i've worked & i've never missed a day of work or came to work late but i guess supervisors don't appreciate that.

That doesn't say much does it?

Look, I'm not a fan of Walmart EVEN though I worked there for 8 yeas. I stayed there to support my daughter single handed, not because I liked my job. But I DO KNOW that there are policies and ways about doing things including firing people. THey DONT just fire you, you are given a DECISION DAY, one in which you are given a paid day off to decide if you want to keep your job at Walmart and THAT is after being given 2 or 3 notices, called coaching. Any of this sounding familiar yet there?

I had a lot of family problems when I worked there and they were not all too eager to help me out. There was a lot of stuff internally there I was unhappy with, that i could nto believe happened but it did.

That didn't mean I liked it.

I still think there is way more to what you are telling.

To add to what Nancy said: I've been with the company for a year and they shouldn't even give you a Decision Day to start with. It should have started out with a verbal warning, then move on to a coaching (write up), D-Day, and then firing. Come to think of it, if Chuck didn't like your work he should have moved you to a different department and tried that out.

You should have fought the firing. Go to the store manager and if need be, go to the District Manager, Regional Manager, and all the way up to the Home Office if you need to. Personally, I'd go back there and ask for your job back because Chuck didn't follow store policy.

I got coached once for not taking my boxes to the baler in time & not having my back stock pallets taken to the back. Chuck did tell me that i'm supposed to get a verbal warning once, then a coaching, then get fired but he also told me i can come in & work for a half a day when i get fired, something like that. The store manager over Chuck is supposed to be calling me tomorrow so i'll see what happens. If he doesn't call, i'm definitely gonna call there & ask to speak to somebody. They had me in the chemicals department first, then they moved me to automotive cause they said i was too slow in chemicals. Then i told my other supervisor Ricky to move me out of automotive cause the department manager in automotive named Millie would always b***h about my work. So they moved me to hardware & i guess Chuck felt like i'm too slow over there so that's why he fired me. I'm gonna ask them to put me in receiving unloading trucks cause it seems i'm not cut out to stock shelves since i have to be real fast doing that. I don't see too many other employees moving fast stocking shelves except this black deaf guy & this other black guy who's a weirdo. He don't hardly talk to nobody.

See. I knew there was more than what you were saying. Chemicals and HBA are the 2 fastest moving departments in the store sales wise. The shelves HAD to stay stocked, constantly, because of the amount of sales generated from them. You can't just piddle around and stay in those departments. If you are getting coached about something then you know you are doing something that needs corrected. You should correct it.

I worked in every part of that store EXCEPT the UPC office. You get around a lot in 8 years.
