View Full Version : Give Me Strength, Guys!
pilotguy 05-16-2003, 07:08 AM Things are not going well for me at work...My boss just hired a new co-worker for me, and this new person is driving me NUTS!
She is the PUSHIEST, RUDEST, most OBNOXIOUS person that I have EVER met! She's only been here a week and she's already making unfunny smart-ass cracks about my cluttered desk and other things. She's like a bull out of the chute and doesn't care WHAT she says, HOW she says it or WHO she says it to!
She's only been here a WEEK and she's being like this...Imagine when she's SETTLED IN? (The worst part is that my boss thinks that she's a really agressive "powerhouse" and doesn't want me or anyone else to ruffle her feathers!).
I can get along with just about anyone, and I have never had a bad relationship with any of my other co-workers, but THIS woman and I are JUST not "clicking".
She's about as lovable as Alex Lambert in her very first "WINGS" episode....only without the hot looks!
I'm starting to sound like Joe and Brian: "Am I going to let her talk to me like that? I'm PILOTGUY!"
I'm sorry to bring this problem to the message board, but it IS sort of WINGS-related....Last night I was so aggravated from the day's encounter that I couldn't even enjoy my nightly "WINGS" episode as much as I usually do...and it had nothing to do with the show itself!
Wish me luck, gang!
wingshock 05-16-2003, 08:44 AM Yikes. Good luck, Pilotguy! That does not sound like fun. :(
If you don't mind, I'll say a prayer for ya... and try to keep smiling.
Love,
Wing<><

Say prayers, light candles, do whatever you can...I need all the help I can get with this obnoxious loudmouth!
Thanks!
blackbeard 05-16-2003, 10:03 AM hold your head up, do your job and try not to let the witch bother you. Spirit sends light and love your way. If you can post a picture of her and we can all make voodoo dolls and stick pins in her. lol Seriously just try not to let her bother you and let her hang herself.
flutterby01 05-16-2003, 01:30 PM Oh, that really sucks, I'm sorry! I too had a real problem with a couple people at work when I started my job two years ago. No matter what I did or said, they made my life completely miserable and tried to get me fired. That did wonders for my self-esteem, let me tell ya! I am the most sensitive person in the world, and also can get along with anyone, but I just couldn't take them! I just learned not to talk to them or do anything to spur them on. The problem eventually went away. Only one of them is still here, but the problem is gone for the most part. She doesn't like anyone, so I learned not to take it personally. I hope things get better for you!
Krista2882 05-16-2003, 02:34 PM pilotguy- that sucks!! I'm sure everything will turn out ok tho! Try not to worry about it too much. I know thats hard tho. I'm prayin for ya! :)

:)
hey flutterby- i love your avatar thingy! Alias rules!
flutterby01 05-16-2003, 02:54 PM Krista--Thanks!! I like it pretty well myself! :) Alias is my favorite show besides Friends, and of course, Wings!!
Chocoholic 05-16-2003, 06:20 PM That stinks, Pilotguy. I hate rude people. I work at a grocery store and there are quite a few rude customers who come in regularly. Just hang in there and don't let her get the best of you :)
Adamantium 05-16-2003, 09:48 PM I too work in a grocery store. For the most part all the employees are nice to me (some are annoying, but nice). But there is this guy who just doesn't like me.
Just consider yourself Joe Hackett. And you have Roy to deal with.
flutterby01 05-16-2003, 10:42 PM I worked in fast food for about 8 months...that was an experience! I hate rude people, so that job about did me in!
TVAdam--you live in Springfield, Ohio? Cool! I live about 2 hours from there in the Portsmouth area.
pilotguy 05-17-2003, 12:47 AM Here's the latest "Co-Worker From Hell" Update:
Today was a GOOD day at work! It was Co-worker's first day of having her reports reviewed by the boss (prior to this, co-worker was in training).....
The boss reviewed her report and made extensive revisions and changes to it (as is typical for first reports).
Co-worker From Hell went NUTS and called the boss "anal" right to his face...then she accused the boss of having an obsessive-compulsive disorder! (I SWEAR on a stack of "Wings" scripts that this is all TRUE!).
During all of this, an older lady in our office (who reminds me a LOT of Fay) walked by my desk and quietly said to me, "I give it a WEEK!" then walked away....and she said it EXACTLY like Fay would have, complete with deadpan expression! I suddenly had to run to the men's room....to burst out LAUGHING so nobody in the office would hear me!
For the rest of the day things were VERY tense between the new co-worker and my boss.
I think that the boss is finally getting a taste of what the rest of the office has been putting up with for over a week.
I must admit that I felt just like Roy Biggins today....sitting at my desk, watching New Co-Worker slitting her own throat by yelling at the boss and calling him names....and me secretly smiling and thinking to myself, "Oh, life is GOOD!".
She's still working here (for now)...but as my older lady co-worker said, "I give it a week!".
Thanks for all of your support through this!
Chocoholic 05-17-2003, 05:01 PM I give it a week too.

flutterby01 05-20-2003, 01:42 PM HaskellGirl, I'm about 5 hours from Cleveland way down in the sticks of southern Ohio, but I've only lived here about 8 years. I love the Cleveland area though....I go to Lake Erie every year...I want to move there one day after college!
