Sounds like a good one. Carter and Luka both all hot and sweaty in the Congo... <Kristen starts fanning herself, then spashes herself with ice-cold water>

:D

Well it's not over yet but out of the 9 Season Finales of ER this has got to be the suckiest one EVER.

This isnt' the Carter and Luka show (although I like them). I'd have liked to see some switching between Chicago and the Congo.

Very very disappointed here :(

That's what I sorta thought...I wanted it to be something with the whole cast...but I'm watching it right now...it's ok...I like last year's much better so far...but it's not over yet! ;)

I liked it. I thought it was a nice change of pace. A little action from the ER would have been nice though. I hope Susan and Chuck stay together. They make a cute couple.

Are Luka and Romano coming back next season? I hope they stay.

I dont know if they are coming back but I did read that ER inked another 2 (or was it 3?) year deal. Lots more ER to come which makes me happy.

But I'm very disappointed with the final. One shot of Abby? She's one of my favorite (dont' shoot me!) characters ON ER. And what is up with Kerry. Come on.

Sucks to wait 3 months now. :(

It was a nice change of pace, but I was still very disappointed in it. I just expected a better finale after everything we've had to sit through (Carter/Abby, Luka, Romano/Corday) this season for a little better closure, or something.

Oh well. After a while, I just ended up flipping the channel.

It sucked. No cliffhanger? Him kissing Abby at the end? Big whoop.

It was okay.

:( I was not happy at all with this years E.R. finale. I like the whole cast of E.R. not just Luca & Carter. Plus I admit to missing the last couple of episodes of E.R. so I was a little confused as to why two doctors from Chicargo were in another country in the first place. They did this once before when Eric LaSalle was still on the show. They had a whole episode starring just him from the E.R. cast. I didn't finish watching last nights finale just like I didn't want to watch that one either. Hopefully next year will be better.

Sylvia

P.S. Who is Chuck?
P.P.S. Are Abby & Carter no longer together? I noticed she didn't go with him.

I didn't like it until about the last 5 minutes! It was ok, but not as good as last year's, and I think that's because it didn't surround the whole ER...I liked the end, but not a huge cliffhanger, you're right...and Luka's not one of my favorite characters, maybe that's why I didn't like it as much. I love Carter though.

I felt that instead of a good season finale, it was a political message...

I think that Luka is partially leaving, but I think I heard that they're going to play up a relationship between Elizabeth and Romano, so I don't think he's leaving.

I like Susan and Chuck together too ;)

Can't wait to see what happens next season! It'll be interesting. I don't know if I can wait for 3 whole months! :p

i really liked this episode. It was funny when Carter was trying to speak french, and then sad when they lost patients. BUT my favourite part was at the end, when Carter got out of the taxi and walked into abby's apt. then kissed her head! hes soo sweet! i love him, i hope this means that they are staying together. they're my favs!

Carter is leaving some time during the next season (the 10th). Seems most likely he'll be staying on in the Congo. Luka will be back in Chicago for good though, as I think he's signed up for another two seasons.

Hey, Mickey! I've never seen you over here at the ER board. You may not recognize me because I don't post much over at ILL, but I've seen you over there. All of you experts over there have some interesting discussions!

Anyhow, I didn't know if it was a sure deal that Wyle was leaving ER next year. I've heard his contract runs out, but since they have decided to continue with the show beyond season 10, I thought he may stick around. I haven't heard any news lately though. It would be pretty strange for me to continue watching without him. He's been there since day one, and if he leaves, there will be no more original members left!

Yeah, it will be strange without Carter, but I've been so bored with the lousy love life stories they've been giving him lately. He and Abby have been the worst storyline the show's ever had, and have almost made me want to turn off for the first time since the show began. AFAIK, Noah Wyle is definitely going some time in S10. He will be around a bit, probably not full time for that season, then will be going. The way they've been cutting his ties lately, killing off Gamma, etc, hints that he may decide to stay out in the Congo, and finish off the growing up he's been doing since day 1.

I'll miss the character, and the growing we have seen him do, but in the end losing Clooney was good for the show, so who knows what might happen? IMO, Kovac is far better anyway.

Oh, and no, I haven't been on the rest of the site much. Just ILL. I thought I'd have a look round and see what else is happening though. Saw the magic words "A-Team" and "Macguyver" (pictures of Richard Dean Anderson with hair!), so I decided to stick around for a bit!

I used to be sooo into E.R. but now I think the show is going down. All the good and interesting characters have left the show. It seems everything is evolving around Carter and Abby who I can't stand. I want to see more storyline with Chen and Pratt or even Carrie or something!

Oh yes, I couldn't agree more with the crummy love llife stories for Carter. I have countless posts with my complaints of the show's recent direction, and my focus has been on Carter and Abby. It's been difficult sometimes staying a devoted watcher. I had no idea Wyle would be leaving so soon, but signs sure have pointed to it. I wonder what his fairwell show will entail. If Abby and Carter don't finally break it off, I'll be one disappointed viewer!

I for one LOVE Abby & Carter together. Abby has been through so much & she's tuff because of it. She has never wanted to depend on anyone & then along comes Carter. They are great together & I think it's about time Abby gets some happiness in her life. The only problem I have is that they never give her a really important role as far as the E.R. scenes. She probably knows more then the doctors at times & yet she is still treated just like a regular nurse. It's a waste of her talents. :angryfire

She's treated like a regular nurse because that's what she is. She went through 2 1/2 years of medical school, but since she didn't get the degree, she can't offer any doctor advice. I remember one time Luka was letting her do a doctor procedure after she already quit medical school, and Kerry flipped out because the hospital could be liable if anything went wrong.

I do know what you mean when it comes to the snide comments she has to endure sometimes. I couldn't believe the time when Pratt said, "I fly the plane, and you serve the coffee." What a condescending thing to say! But aside from Pratt's and Ramano's conceitedness (and they are that way with anyone. They don't save it for just the nurses), I think she's treated all right.

New rumours that Carter may stick around after all, provided they come up with some decent storylines for him. Have to wait and see I suppose.
