Just heard about it and am very, very saddened. I have always been such a huge fan of Unsolved Mysteries and since then him. I will not be too sad, though, because he had a wonderful long, life and a wonderful, long career and was truly blessed. He had what most classic Hollywood actors didn't have, which was work and a huge fanbase until the transcension ("end") . He had a great long-term marriage when a lot of actors go through four to eight spouses in a lifetime. His soul is at rest now and thank God the cancer didn't ravage him for years and years.

On a side note, it seems that Lifetime is trying to slowly faze out UM in the primetime for those inferior UM clones. This isn't right for a show that has such a hardcore following. They need to take off one of the hundreds of daily broadcasts of The Nanny or Mad about you (yuck) to make room for UM every weeknight. We can do without an Intimate Portrait every single night or Any Day Now (Does anybody actually follow that series?)

Jennifer Sunflower and Martha Lavaburger send their condolescences, too. Both have forgotten their passwords. :(

What a sad day! He will truly be missed by his many, many fans! Watching UM for all these years you feel like you know him personally. I'm glad I have my UM tapes so I can see him whenever I want. I wonder if his death will make Lifetime try to phase out the show even more, or if they'll start showing more episodes as sort of a tribute to him. Hopefully it will be the latter.

It is a very sad thing, My mom used to watch The Untouchables when she was a kid and we all used to watch UM.

RIP Robert, We'll Miss You.

:( My mum too watched "The Untouchables" and during my spring break this year, we watched "Unsolved Mysteries" together. This is going to be hard to tell my mum about this. We'll miss you very much, Robert Stack.

My condolences to Robert's family and friends, he will be greatly missed. I watched Unsolved Mysteries since the beginning and have since watched many of his other tv appearances and films. He was a multi-talented actor who could do all genres. He will also be remembered for all the charity work he did, what a kind and generous man.

Unsolved Mysteries is one of the few TV shows (apart from The Incredible Hulk) that means the most to me. That's what makes the death of Robert Stack a painful loss. :(

His family and friends all deserve my condolences. He will be sorely missed. :(

Rest in peace, Mr. Stack.

My brother and I will truly miss him. He was great and kind actor proffessionally. We got aware of him from his UM stint which we watched through all those 12 years on TV and then only now got to see the Lifetime run since this late January. Now its truly the end of an era. UM is probably going to be gone. I doubt and don't know if Lifetime even started a 3rd season yet of UM. Even so, Robert was probably in no condition to host it.
Just so saddened by hearing of this on TV and thought we'd look up the websites. Rest in Peace Mr. Stack.

Id used to watch him in The Untouchables when i was a kid. It was my favorite "non-cartoon" tv-show then. Robert Stack was the only actor who appeared in two of my all-time favorite tv-shows.

I think you had a wonderful life Mr. Stack, rest in peace.

Isn't it odd? None of us knew him personally but we are all feeling a sense of loss. I was just shocked when I read the headline yesterday.

I was saddened to hear of Robert Stack's passing. I was also surprised to hear that he was 84 at the time of his death, as he certainly did not look his age.

Robert Stack was Unsolved Mysteries. The late Dennis Farina did a good job, but he was no Stack. Then again, nobody was.
