I feel stupid for posting this, but is there anyone out there who knows the game very well and might be able to assist me on a couple of levels? I'd like to fully complete this game sometime this century.

I'd like to fully complete this game sometime this century. Brian 05-13-2003, 10:20 PM I have it and I may be able to help you. What do you need help on. pandora_spocks 05-13-2003, 10:26 PM Okay, my main problem is wall kicking. I have a horrible time trying to do that. So far these are the levels that I'm having trouble with because of it. Level 5 - Big Boo's Haunt I need to get to star # 5 which is on Big Boo's Balcony, yet I can't get to the balcony b/c I can't wall kick up there. Anyway, I can do this with or without the wall kick? Level 6 - Hazy Maze Cave Yet, another freakin' wall kick. Not sure how to get up to the room where the falling rocks are. I can't seem to wall kick up on this one either. Brian 05-13-2003, 10:28 PM Let's see if I can remember. I had trouble with it the first time but with practice I was able to do it. Try jumping straight towards the wall and press either A or B, I can't remember which. pandora_spocks 05-13-2003, 10:30 PM Originally posted by BJL Let's see if I can remember. I had trouble with it the first time but with practice I was able to do it. Try jumping straight towards the wall and press either A or B, I can't remember which. I've been doing that, but have gotten no where. :( On level 5 I've tried kicking off of all the walls even the bookshelf still can't get up. I hate this part.. Brian 05-13-2003, 10:34 PM Then I don't know what else to tell you. Try practicing it again and again. On level 5 you will have a lot more to worry about because after you beat the Big Boo, you have to do a long jump towards one side of the building and *carefully* walk towards the middle. Unfortunately, the camera angles are crappy and one slip and you have to start over. pandora_spocks 05-13-2003, 10:36 PM Originally posted by BJL Then I don't know what else to tell you. Oh well, thanks anyway. Ravey 05-13-2003, 10:55 PM I remember that game! :D I sitll have it!! ;) Don't worry, it took me 7 months to beat it, but I quit inbetween, because it really started to annoy me...lol Truth 05-13-2003, 11:10 PM Go to www.gamefaqs.com and search for Super Mario 64... They usually have free guides on getting through the levels.. Truth 05-13-2003, 11:12 PM Edit - Nevermind, they dont allow direct linking to FAQ's.. evil... Just search Super mario 64 from there main site.. Hollow 05-13-2003, 11:29 PM ive never really gotten to play that game. mario kart 64 and yoshi's island are fun tho. ha Hollow 05-13-2003, 11:33 PM also if ne1 plays mario rpg can u tell me what the hell im sposed to do as soon as i get to nimbus land? i talked to all the ppl but it wont lemme in the palace thingy...ive beaten that game about 1000 times but i forgot. lol. pandora_spocks 05-14-2003, 12:11 AM Originally posted by Ravey I remember that game! :D I sitll have it!! ;) Don't worry, it took me 7 months to beat it, but I quit inbetween, because it really started to annoy me...lol lol what does Raven have to do with Mario? Anyway, I've searched through yahoo for walkthrough's I keep getting the same thing on every site. 'blah, blah, blah..wall kick yourself up onto the balcony..' then it talks about how you beat big boo again. Oh well, I have 64 stars right now and I'm try to get to 70 so I can go up those never ending stairs. Sarah, yeah I love Mario Kart 64. I've beaten it so many times on each level lol. I really like the backwards level, but sometimes I forget which way I'm supposed to turn, hehe. Cashodeen 05-14-2003, 05:26 AM pandora_spocks, have you successfully wall kicked ever? If not read on. If you know how to do them, skip down, down, down below to the bold writing. I'll teach you wall kicks, but I do make a rotten teacher. When you first are trying wall kicks, practice right outside the castle, on the wall with the front door (that way I can sorta describe things better): Okay, you're going to wall kick on a side with that door, but first go in a corner near the door. See those grey bricks on the ground, that are in lines? Count the lines and make Mario walk foward away from the wall while you count. Stop at 6. Now that is the area you want to prepare for your wall kick. Okay, now back up past the 6th line so you are at about the start of that ramp/bridge thing. Run forward toward the wall with the door and when you see yourself getting to about the 6th line, press A. You're going to keep holding the joystick forward as well, so that you ram into the wall. Once you see Mario crash into the wall, press A again and he should jump real high in the air. That's a wall kick! To make him go even further in the wall kick, move the joy stick in the direction Mario is jumping after you press A that second time. *It's a little tricky, because the whole time you were pressing the joystick one way, you suddenly press it the opposite, because in the wall kick Mario is suddenly moving in the opposite direction. If you want, just worry about those A buttons when you are first trying the wall kick out. You only need to worry about the joystick when you want to start going further in the air. Big Boo's Haunt All right, you see the area up above that you need to go to, right? Well, across from it, is that ledge with the wood floor. That's the area you want to do your wall kick from. Since wall kicks make you go backwards, you will go backwards right up on that bolcony. It took me a few times to have enough distance to reach the balcony. What I did was, after I was doing the wall kick, I moved the joystick in the opposite direction I had it while I was running to the wall (because that makes you go further) AND THEN pressed B, so I slid onto the balcony. That should work for you too. It just may take some practice to get good distance. And paying attention to what buttons to press and when to press them is annoying too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I haven't even gotten any star from level 6 yet (I've beaten the game, just not completed the game), because I hate the way that level looks. But if you have any more questions, this is a pretty awesome site: http://www.angelfire.com/games3/kevinsm64page/walkthrough.html *ShortCake* 05-14-2003, 09:43 AM Man. ... that game is hard! LOL I got lost on Level 1! I can play the very first nintendo and super nintendo. None of this nintendo 64 stuff. The controllers are huge!! pandora_spocks 05-14-2003, 01:08 PM Originally posted by Cashodeen pandora_spocks, have you successfully wall kicked ever? If not read on. Oh well, if so I need 3 more stars. There's only two stars I haven't gotten from Big Boo's Haunt and that's the balcony one and getting a hundred coins on the same one. I'm just gonna give up on the level and finish some of the other levels that I've only got 3 or 4 stars. I've already been to that walkthrough as well as this one. http://www.n64europe.com/walkthroughs/mario-index.html Cashodeen 05-14-2003, 04:10 PM Originally posted by pandora_spocks I have 67 stars currently..how many do I need to beat the game? 70? Yep, 70 Stars and you can defeat Bowser to rescue the Princess. I can't remember what I've heard happens when you complete the game--its about 120 stars I think! I had thought I got every star in Boo Haunt until I dusted off my game and checked it out last night to see the star you needed help on. I never did get the fifth one. I think I'll start playing again and edge my way to the 120 stars. It's gonna be tough! Do you ever get the 6th star in levels by getting 100 coins? I've done that a bunch times because some levels with stars are just hard. I have 72 now. Cashodeen 05-14-2003, 04:15 PM Originally posted by *ShortCake* Man. ... that game is hard! One dimentional animation, choppy graphics (although Super Mario 3 was a cut above), goofy music, the whole deal! Mario 64 is awesome, just a lot different from NEW and Super Nintendo that I grew up on. pandora_spocks 05-14-2003, 04:24 PM Originally posted by Cashodeen Yep, 70 Stars and you can defeat Bowser to rescue the Princess. I think in that I have like 38 coins or something. I now have 68 stars! :woohoo: Almost there! I get the 100 coins star in levels with lots of blue coins, like Tiny Huge Island (I think that's what it's called, can't really remember). Well anyway after 70, you have to fight Bowser and save the princess. The game isn't over yet though, there are 120 in all. Then after you get the 120th one...THAT ending is just great. lol, it's so cool. I haven't actually gotten all 120 myself. My older brother has and I watched. Erm..about the wall kicking. I had so much trouble with that too. I don't even I think I got those stars myself, the ones that have to do with wall kicking I mean. Like...the one you mentioned with Big Boo and that other one too from the third level, the one with the snow. I can't remember the name of the place, but I know the star is called Wall Kicks Will Work. God that one took forever, now that I think about it I think I did do that one myself. But the Big Boo one was hard...you know what else I thought was hard at first? That penguin racing thing on that slide. That one took forever, lol, cuz I kept falling off. It's easy for me now but for some reason I never could get past it back then. This thread is making me want to play it again so I think I might later. ;) Cashodeen 05-14-2003, 04:59 PM Originally posted by pandora_spocks Yep, I always try to get 100 coins for stars. To get the 100 coins in Tall Tall Mountain, you have to go down that slide you went down to get the "Mysterious Mountiainside" star. when you complete the slide you can leave that area and get the remaning coins throughout the rest of the level. Have you gotten the hang of wall kicking yet? Cashodeen 05-14-2003, 05:14 PM http://www.angelfire.com/games3/kev...alkthrough.html I take it back. This isn't that awesome of a website. It needs to get finished because it is missing some levels! :o pandora_spocks 05-14-2003, 05:42 PM Originally posted by Cashodeen To get the 100 coins in Tall Tall Mountain, you have to go down that slide you went down to get the "Mysterious Mountiainside" star. when you complete the slide you can leave that area and get the remaning coins throughout the rest of the level. Screw wall kicking! I've got 70 stars now! :does a little dance:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo: Mr. Shy Guy 05-14-2003, 07:45 PM I think you just have to wall kick it at a certain angle. *shrugs* Gah, now I want to play it again. I have all 120 stars so it probaly won't take that long for me to beat it again. :p Cashodeen 05-14-2003, 09:34 PM LOL, pandora_spocks. But you have to be able to wall kick to beat Bowser. JK. I am trying to make that worm wiggle for the 5th star in Tiny-Huge Island and I can't do it! pandora_spocks, you got me playing again! Blair_Warner02 05-15-2003, 01:43 PM A really good site is gamewinners.com they have separate forums for almost every game on every console. They also have links to walkthroughs and FAQ's. Just click enter then choose the system then the letter of the game then find the game and then click on the forum it should be at the top of the page somewhere. pandora_spocks 05-15-2003, 03:17 PM Originally posted by Blair_Warner02 A really good site is gamewinners.com they have separate forums for almost every game on every console.
