UM is getting screwed by Lifetime.

I agree, but with Unsolved Mysteries more than likely not making any more new segments and also with unconfirmed reports that Robert Stack has died -- there isnt much more than can be done?

Hey man- I agree. I remember, only about six months ago, they were showing Unsolved Mysteries three times every day!!!! They would show one episode at 11AM, one at 12PM, and then another at 8PM. Now, somedays, they don't show UM at all! That sucks. I love the show, and I hope that LIFETIME goes back to showing the Unsolved Mysteries episodes thrice a day (even if they are the obsolete episodes).....

I remember sometime ago Lifetime had aired UM Monday through Friday at 12PM, 8PM, and 2AM. At least a couple of times the show aired back-to-back from 7 to 8PM. Nowadays, the show is airing at 1PM during the week and 8PM on a couple of nights. It seems that at the moment, UM is on only at 1PM. I wish Lifetime would continue airing the show about 3 times a day, though 2 would do okay as well.

i'd rather see UM than these ****ty movies they have

every movie involves a woman being raped and her rapist being braught to justice when it looked like they'd never find him

atleast UM has real stories, instead of hollywood dramatizations

"i'd rather see UM than these ****ty movies they have"

LOL- you and me both. It's either those films, or Danielle Steel.

Unsolved Mysteries has been airing on Lifetime for a very long time now. I don't remember exactly when, but I believe it was even before it was picked up by CBS. Perhpas Lifetime is trying to faze out the show? :(

I hate those darn movies too. Some of them have such stupid names. They're all about someone bad doing something bad to someone else, and nearly getting away with it. Then they get caught. OR someone has an affair they regret. Blah. How about a teenager having a baby or having a drinking or drug problem? There's fresh material for a new lifetime movie?

I sincerely hope they do make new episodes of UM with a new host. Maybe Warren Betty*? He atleast looks somewhat like Robert Stack.

Warren Beatty??!! Pardon me for saying it, but you've got to be joking! If they decide to reactivate the show with a new host (which I hope is what happens someday), they should find someone with a real crime-fighting/pro-law enforcement spirit. I'm not saying that someone like Beatty isn't like that. I'm just saying that, while Warren Beatty is a good actor, he would be much too liberal for the show.

Oh that's right. I just figured him because he looked somewhat like Robert but someone else would be better. There's a lot of people against the show continuing I'm sure but it's been done before. In search of went from Leonard Nimoy to Mitch Peleggie* and Believe it or not went from Jack Palance to Dean Kane*.

By the way, it was never a story on UM but has anyone here heard the story of missing Michael Negrete?

Man, I remember the glory days when UM was first on Lifetime. It would be on at 8pm five nights a week and then another episode would be on at 11pm. Then you had the new episodes on NBC on Wednesdays at 8pm.

Lifetime has a new magazine out. The cover has the following blurb:

"My husband dresses like Cher!" I guess they are trying to wean their image off Unsolved Mysteries. I really miss the 8pm episodes.

I hate those movies too. They call themselves "Television for Women" but every movie they show has women being victimized.

I think that if Lifetime TV doesn't want to play the old episodes anymore they should give them over to a cable station that hopefully would show them on a more consistent basis.

I'm starting to dislike Lifetime now, I was disappointed that they didn't do anything when Robert Stack died besides show a measly 'In memory' screen.

Just so long as they include sex, is the maxim. Such people do not have the needed brainpower to comprehend a show like Unsolved Mysteries.

This was originally posted by Allieran a number of weeks ago, but it was lost due to a database crash so I am reposting it:

I saw that mag at the grocery store yesterday. I didn't pick it up or read through it, but I was pretty weirded-out by that Cher blurb. Ugh!

Lifetime's already got a new network on digital (I think) for all their melodramatic TV movies. I am hoping maybe they will shift all that goop to the new network...

starting tonight(Tuesday September 2nd) Unsolved Mysteries is back EVERY weeknight at 8pm ET, in addition to the 1pm showing. They even advertised it during the 1pm show today.:)
