How can a screenshot from Bringing Up Baby ever be too long?! I don't know about anybody else, but some people's sigs around here completely screw up my computer they're that long; but yours is fine.

Just to go nicely O/T - what are the best Cary Grant movies? My favourite is Arsenic And Old Lace, which is not only great, but also has Peter Lorre in it. I also really like Bringing Up Baby and Gunga Din. Can't beat a nice bit of crackly black and white!

When Life with Lucy got into ratings trouble, Lucy thought of getting Cary Grant to come out of retirement, and guesting on her show, they both admired the other's work. When you get your tape Ash, i will include the Variety Clubs tribute to Lucy as it is Cary who reads the telegram from the Reagans. Cary was imitated by impersonators for doing this famous line in the movies, Judy Judy Judy, so before he reads the telegram he goes Lucy Lucy Lucy and brings down the house. Cary retirde in 1964 after doing the film Walk don't run, while Lucy was still doing The Lucy show, but their paths crossed many times, two great talented superstars.

Thank you!! :D :D :D I cant thank you enough Claude you are so sweet! I love it when he says "Judy Judy Judy Judy Judy Judy " etc 10 times.. That would have been so cool if Lucy had actually gotten Cary to do that. He was such a wonderful person too! :faint:

The ONLY negative thing i've ever heard about him was that he was a little frugal. I wonder if he and Lucy ever got together in the biblical sense, as she was so fond of saying that he wasn't gay, how would she be so sure of that otherwise? The rumors started when he and Randolph Scott shared a house in their early days. But i'm sure a fan like you knows all that.

There were rumours like that about David Niven and Errol Flynn as well, when they shared a house. Actually, people who knew Cary Grant say he probably did experiment that way, since he liked to sample all that life has to offer! Well hell, why not.
