I was not aware that the first season of CIC was not widely aired anymore...
I was fortunate to catch episodes 8-12 on WMLW Ch 41 in Milwaukee at 7:30 AM a few weeks ago. I was not even aware the first season had a different cast until then - I had not seen the show since it ended its first-run syndication in 1990. Unfoturnately the station abruptly changed its lineup last week and it no longer included CIC on a permanent timeslot, or so I thought.
Today (Sunday), just by chance while flipping through channels, I caught CIC on CH 41 at 2 PM - and they were playing the final episode of Season 1 (Meet Grandpa). Right after that they played an episode from the second season - which I immediately turned off.
A long story short, I don't know if this is the new timeslot of the show, but even if it is it would appear that the first season has ended its rotation and probably won't be back for a LOOONG time.
After I saw that final episode I had the urge to look up the details of the show and found this message board and all the messages about not being able to see the 1st season anymore. I would just like to comment that I always thought CIC was a stupid show based on a stupid premise (who needs a live in baby sitter with a live in grandpa?). But when I saw the first season episodes I made an exception for it. The plots actually revolved around the whole family instead of just Charles and Buddy and the comedy was more than just mindless slapstick I had such bad memories of from the Powell version of CIC. I wish they could have worked something out and kept the original family for the entire series.
I also now wish I would have taped the shows I was able to see.
