Finally, I received the first tape after receiving an out of stock notice! Anybody else get the first or even second tape yet? I would expect to receive the 2nd one soon after the 1st.

It's edited, and my tape was defective. I'm sending mine back and DEMANDING that they recall the first volume and repress it with the UNedited masters.

how do you know if its edited??? TJ was your tape edited too??

If it was, just cancel. Cause if ya want edited episodes, jus tape the off of N@N

If anyone does decide to cancel his/her subscription to Columbia House video, I hope it won't be a pain. I not only wrote "cancel" according to their instructions after paying the account, but had to verify my desire to cancel several times more by both phone and mail. If only their video division was as customer friendly as their music one is.

I know what Attmay is talking about since we have discussed this over e-mails.. my opinion is that the first episode is uncut (and we both agree that the other 3 episodes on the tape are uncut). He thinks it was cut because the opening scene where Mrs. G is coming downstairs (it's longer than the Nick at Nite version, it shows her dusting some things while coming down the stairs) fades-in with laughter.. but there is another act which fades in with laughter so I believe that is how it is originally aired.

We don't have an original 1978 NBC airing to say with 100% certainty that there was an opening scene cut or if it is unedited. I do have have a copy of the pilot from a 1982 NBC morning rerun and is the same as far as I can tell.

well ya.. Nick at Nite does a HORRIBLE job of editing.. i'm ALMOST posititve that Columbia House is releasing UNEDITED episodes... so i think they ARE UNEDITED! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
