View Full Version : Top 10 List of Cancelled Shows You Love!

I know it's been done before, but I wanna voice my opinion on the shows I love that ended before their time:

10 - Just the Ten Of Us
09 - Jenny
08 - Maybe This Time
07 - Veronica's Closet
06 - Phenom
05 - Double Trouble
04 - Throb (Kinda annoying but Jayne was funny as Blu)
03 - The Golden Palace
02 - The Edge
01 - The Rerun Show (I Loved It!)

I know these may be rather ridiculous to miss, but I adored these shows, and there needs to be a network that airs all sitcoms that are no longer in syndication and show them uncut and no voice over's on the credits. I mean, I know Nick@Nite and TVLand do this, but they are horrible at editing and airing credits to the show, not to mention airing horrible shows like Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith (which is already on 300 other channels as it is). If they would just focus on these sitcoms from 70s-NOW, it would have ratings through the roof. But, It's just a dream...maybe some day it will happen.

The Tick live action series It was funny.

Polterguiest the series

Sister Kate
The original E.R. Series not nbc version, this had George Clooney
concheta ferrel I think thats her name.

wings was great
boston common
News radio

I could go on .
So many good shows that networks pull because its not trendy .
If I see another episode of sienfeld on another channel again,
Ill scream! One network that probably regrets what they did upn 22. They dropped Xena and xena went on for years after on anohter network. I love that . Upn used to have action packed weekends
the line up was
robin hood
The adventures of sinbad
Hercules
xena warrior princess
They dropped them all and they other 2 stay strong for years after and still have a massive fan following. Shows how much the networks care about what the viewers really want.

My List of top 10 shows that I was bummed to see go...

1. THE NANNY (for sooooo many reasons)
2. CHINA BEACH (it was a great show)
3. FAT ALBERT & the cosby kids (Hey Hey Hey)
4. BOSTON COMMON (this was just a funny show)
5. JOANIE LOVES CHACHI (because I only got to see 1 ep)
6. MAD ABOUT YOU (see explanation below)
7. THE MUPPETS TONIGHT ('cause it brought the muppets back)
8. THE MUPPET SHOW ('cause its the muppets)
9. JESSE (C.A.'s best role IMO)
as for # 10 I am leaving blank because I am a girl & I frequently change my mind & add stuff to my list so this leaves me room....
That & off the top of my head, that was all I could come up with!

Mad About You doesn't belong on this list because its time had come but it was my fav sitcom & while I love the show & miss it, I added it because it was the writers who I blame for its end they had forgotten what made the show a success so in my opinion the show I loved ended prematurly (just after season 4) but the show that aired ended right on time. I could start a who other thread on this topic but MAY has its own board for that. http://www.heyyouguys.com/couch.jpg

NewsRadio It lasted five seasons and 97 episodes. However, I felt it could have gone for another year.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe The last current show I will ever watch. I don't think any new shows could be any better than this two season, 19 episodes series. FOX could have had a cult classic with a long run, but instead decided to just show their stupidity and greed and cancelled this series.

George & Leo I loved this show. Judd Hirsch and Bob Newhart were funny. CBS got it's first strike (out of three) when they cancelled G&L. 22 episodes

In the House Okay, I know it went on UPN for like three seasons, but I am referring to when NBC cancelled the series after two seasons. It was not the same show when it came to UPN. Debbie Allen was gone and they changed the setting from a house to a clinic. If NBC had renewed it, maybe it would have been different.

The Tick A very funny sitcom with Patrick Warburton playing the Big Blue Bug of Justice. I never liked the cartoon, but this series was the best. Only lasted 8 out of the 9 produced episodes.

The Wonder Years - Five years were not enough to make this show complete. We did not get to see Kevin, Winnie, and Paul graduate from McKinley High School. We did not get to see them go to college, either. :(

Our House - This wholesome NBC drama from 1986-1988 Sunday nights deserved better. Two seasons, that was all?

There are two shows I really liked that got cancelled too soon. One was You Don't Know Jack, with Paul Reubens as game show host Troy Stevens and the comedy cop show The Last Precinct. The show was a knockoff of the movie Police Academy, starring Adam west as the captain of a motley police force that included and Elvis impersonator, a transsexual and an Indian exchange cop that was portrayed by former tennis star Vijay Amitraj.

10: NewsRadio
9: Dilbert
8: Dinosaurs (could have gone for at least one more season)
7: Spin City (Think this show should have at least gotten a final episode)
6: The Tick
5: Undeclared
4: Andy Richter Controls the Universe
3: Titus (this show had more laughs per episode than some shows entire seasons.)
2: Family Guy
1: Futurama

Here's my list (I only have seven):

1."Archie Bunker's Place" (1979-83)- Needed a finale episode
2."The Jeffersons" (1975-85)- Needed a finale episode
3."Gloria" (1982-83)- Could've lasted longer- was #18 in the 1982-83 Season
4."The Ropers" (1979-80)- Could've lasted longer- was placed against the hit show "CHiPs", causing it to founder
5."Three's A Crowd" (1984-85)- Needed another season to gather an audience
6."Sanford" (1980-81)- Placed in a bad timeslot, it succumb to low ratings. It could've lasted longer.
7."A.U.S.A" (2003)- I actually liked it...

Actually, I think Archie Bunker was a waste. I know a lot of you don't feel that way but I do. I liked Carol O'Conner more for his Role in, In the Heat of the Night.

Quantum Leap is another Show that should still be around. I really, really Liked it :)

As a matter of a fact I was out of twon a few weeks ago and found a Quantum Leap Marathon on and I watched it from Begining to End and Still Wanted More.

These are shows I think should/could have lasted longer:

Under One Roof (1995 drama with James Earl Jones and Merlin Santana that lasted 6 episodes)

Dangerous Minds (Annie Potts, lasted one season, a million times better than the movie)

Byrds Of Paradise (Jennifer Love Hewitt & Seth Green in Hawaii)

Second Noah (loved it the first season, not so much the second season)

WB got rid of Smart Guy too soon and I thought it was sad that no other network picked up Gregory Hines' sitcom after CBS cancelled it.

Does anyone out there remember the show? >
It's About Time
I'm not to sure, but I think it was about some travellers who crashed either into another world or onto an island, with the main Characters being cavemen. I think the lead character’s name was Shad or Chad
From what I can remember, the show didn't run for to long.
I think the theme song went something like this, >
"It's about time, It's about space.
It's about time we slapped your face"
(I do remember singing those words, but can't remember if they were actually from the show or are they words we had made up as children to fit in with the beat of the theme music...lmao

Well that was one of my many favourites, others are>

Titus, Dark Angel, Now and again and Norm. Karen Sisco wasn't given much of a chance either.

This is from back on the first page, but it bugged me a lot.

I could start a who other thread on this topic but MAY has its own board for that.

...it actually lasted 7 seasons. ;) Its last episode aired on May 24, 1999 and its first episode aired on September 23, 1992.

My favorites that ended before its time were:

1. Saved by the Bell: The College Years
2. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
3. Jesse
4. Bette
5. Blossom
6. Life Goes On
7. Kirk
8. I also will add Friends since I never want it to end.

1. Freaks & Geeks (luckily I have the DVD now)
2. Flash Forward (only ran for 22 episodes; one season)

The boy from that show is in The Punisher...he looks a lot different, at first I didn't recognize him.

How about " The Ben Stiller Show " from 1992 not 1990 ? I'm lucky that I have it on dvd . It disappeared after 12 episodesbecause it was always fell very last in the ratings. Then it was aired in re-run's on a few channels then disappered completely. What happened ?
