This is turning out to be one of the worst Torando season starts in quite awhile. I saw on the weather channel that last year at this time there were 204 Tornados in May, however this year in early May there have already been about 220 Tornados and May is far from over. Oklahoma City has been the worst hit in the last few years, they had an F-4 tornado on May 3rd 1999 and yesterday they had another F-4 tornado, luckly no one was killed, but over 100 people were injured, and my thoughts and prayers are with there familys. Also Kansas, Missouri and Tennessee have been hit hard this year by tornados, some people in those states were killed, and my thoughts and prayers are with there familys as well. The last two weeks tornados have been devistating the Southeast and the midwest, and it still looks like more tornados are possible tomarrow. We also had a few tornados in Nebraska that have caused damage, like I said its been an ugly last few weeks.

I'm thinking of becomming a storm spotter this summer. I think tornados are awesome to look at, but are very dangerous.

Have any of you seen a Tornado in person? I saw one back in October 1994, it was just North of Holdrege and it damaged our golf course and some houses around it, luckly nobody was hurt in that storm.

Yeah it is very sad, the only way I want to see a tornado in person is if it in the country away from cities, the one I saw in 1994 was a F-1 tornado, and it did destroy some fancy houses by the golf course as well as the golf course itself. I noticed that it looks like the Oklahoma City area is going to get hit again, those people have been through alot, so I hope this storm goes away from that area and stays out in the country.

We've had some really bad weather here, also. (Alabama) Earlier this week, there was a tornado that went right over my school, which I WAS AT, while it happened, some of the teachers who went out to look saw it over us, but it never touched down. Thank Goodness. Earlier this year, a tornado went down less than a 1 mile from my house, that was really scary.

yeah, in November of last year, one hit in my neighborhood, and destroyed a lot of the houses around mine. Fortunatly mine wasn't comlpetely destroyed, but we did have a lot of damage, most of which was have gotten fixed back. Its really scrary. This one went right by my house, and it sounded awful. I hope I never have to go through another one ever in my life.:( (btw: I live in Alabama too.)

When we were returning to Chicago from our 8th grade class trip to Springfield, there was a funnel cloud in the distance that followed us almost the whole way. And Plainfield is the most tornado-prone place in all of Illinois, if not in the whole Midwest.

Yeah Illinois does get hit alot, they had some storms there tonight along the Illinois, Missouri border. I know as far as states go that produce the most tornados the state I live in (Nebraska) ranks 5th.

The part of Ohio that I live in gets a lot of tornado warnings. They usually don't happen right in my area; it's usually about 20-30 miles north of us. But when they happen up there, they're pretty bad. :(

Most of the tornados here (Michigan) happen at least 10 miles from my house. One time though we were in the area that the tornado was supposed to be but it never came thankfully.

Yea, we used to get tornado warnings all the time, but Chicago usually never gets hit. It's always the outer suburbs that do.

OMG I live in Oklahoma City right now and we were almost hit last night. And just the day before that there was a tornado that like, totally damaged a whoooooole lot of ****, the tornado last night was about over 1/2 mile wide, and about 25,000 homes dont have any power right now here Oklahoma City. It was totally black last night because all the power was taken out....but the weather men make me sick, they try to over dramatize some things when they're suppose to be calm. They were yelling when they thought the tornado was coming there way lol. Im just glad me and my family and most of my friends are okay, even tho some of my friend's schools are damaged.....mine wasnt, I go to one of the biggest schools here, it's really nice (appearance wise), it's a pretty big school with over 2,000 students....

Yeah, that was probably the worst one we've had recently. But there are warnings all the time. Me and my mom were actually driving during that one Leah is talking about, right below her house.

Man, I have such a fear of tornadoes. They're always in my nightmares... although I've never actually seen one in real life. Still, I heard that these tornado-spawning storms are heading my way and should hit by tomorrow. Hopefully the Northeast won't start getting them. My heart goes out to all those people who have had everything destroyed by the twisters.

Eek, I'm glad NY doesn't really get bad tornados like that. I'm really sorry for all of you who have to go through that :(

Most Tornados here in Nebraska can cause alot of damage, but Nebraska has been fortunate and hasn't had a tornado death in 11 years. Again my thoughts and prayers go out to the families who have been devistate dby these storms, tonight Missouri and Illinois are getting hit again, and more sevre weather is being predicted for next week.
