Yes, I remember that episode. Unfortunately, the beginning sequences almost never had anything to do with the actual episode, so I couldn't tell ya...:(

I believe the name of that episode was "Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?"---it's actually one of the best (if not THE best) episodes of the series; it's the one where Allie accidentally leaves her purse in a taxi and ends up strolling the streets of Manhattan with no money, trying desperately to get back home but no one is willing to help her. In the process, she gets a taste of what homeless people go through on a daily basis.

Oh yeah! How could I have forgotten that! That was really a monumental episode. I feel SO bad for Allie whenever I watch it! Curtin was actually nominated for an Emmy the seaon this episode was in, but didn't win...

Jane Curtin is REALLY the funniest actress I know !!!

That's very cool that you like Jane Curtin! I think it's safe to say that here in America she isn't the most popular actress. While she did win Emmy's (deservedly or not) for the first 2 years of Kate & Allie, she didn't recieve any further accolades and hasn't done any major acting jobs since "3rd Rock From the Sun" ended 2 years ago...I really enjoy her work and wish she'd start working again!
