"Fallout" – Malone and HIS team search for a woman whose disappearance from her office building turns into a hostage crisis, in part one of the two-part first season finale, on WITHOUT A TRACE, Thursday, May 8 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Kevin Hooks directed the episode that was written by one of the show’s executive producers, Hank Steinberg.
Within hours of Sydney Harrison’s disappearance, her office receives a ransom note via e-mail demanding $50,000 in three hours. The kidnapper is identified as Barry Mashburn, the husband of Sydney’s former assistant, who died in their previous offices at the World Trade Center on 9/11. A plan for the ransom exchange is put in place, with Samantha undercover at the location, and all seems to be going smoothly until Mashburn panics and turns the kidnapping into a volatile hostage crisis situation.
