View Full Version : Does anyone know the significance behind May 1st?

Fred mentioned this date twice on Sanford and Son in two Different episodes. I was wondering why that particular date was used more than one time. Lamont would ask Fred when he was going to do something and Fred would say May 1-LOL. So if someone knows the significance behind this date-please let me know.

I know that May 1st is International Workers Day. It is celebrated pretty much everywhere except the United States, and is to commemorate the strikes of Industrial workers in the 1860's in the U.S. Hope this helps.

It is the opening day of the Hernia Festival!!
