View Full Version : Will return to TV Land in April 2004
Pavan 05-08-2003, 01:35 PM Green Acres (April, 2004)
One of CBS’s most successful rural comedies, this is the true “fish-out-of-water” story. A wealthy couple from New York City, Oliver (Eddie Albert) and Lisa Douglas (Eva Gabor), give up their luxurious life and buy a farm in a fictitious town of Hooterville, the setting for Petticoat Junction (the two shows were produced by the same people). Because of its proximity to the neighboring town, often the characters from Petticoat Junction visit Lisa and Oliver and the other cast of characters which include Arnold the Pig, a handyman named Ebb, and a brother and sister carpenter team who work on the Douglas’ home.
Scoobiedoo30 05-08-2003, 04:10 PM Man, I cant wait until Green Acres returns to the TV Land schedule in 2004.

Impressions 05-08-2003, 05:29 PM Thanks, Pavanbadal.
I was wondering when Green Acres was to return to TV Land, I knew it would come to TV Land at some point either late this year or next year. I hope they air a marathon devoted to Green Acres, like they will do with Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie. It's too bad that TV Land won't be picking up Petticoat Junction that was another show I've would have like to seen coming. Again, thanks for posting the updates, this is the best news I've read for a long time.

Yeah. Green Acres will feel weird without Petticoat Junction
Im Glad its coming back though!
Brian 05-09-2003, 06:07 PM When it starts airing, I'll buy the first season DVD set and compare those with the versions TV Land airs. I saw several episodes of the show and I loved it. It may be a while but I can wait.

I think TV Land should re-acquire the rights to Petticoat Junction, but I don't think it will be happening in the near future. I could see Hallmak air however becuase Petticoat Junction was listed on their survey not to long ago. I think Petticoat Junction would fit well next to an airing of The Beverly Hillbillies.

I am also plan to buy the Green Acres/Mister Ed DVD coming out on November 4th, (which is still considered as a rumor). Notice when the news came out about Green Acres/Mister Ed on DVD, they referred to it only as "Season One", and not "The Complete First Season" which could possibly mean that the episodes on the DVD will not be uncut. A situation such as this happened to the Sanford and Son DVDs. So I think it may be a good idea to compare the episodes on the DVD with the episodes on TV Land because they may not be uncut.

I'll believe it when I see it. I thought it was supposed to be on January 1st. I will have my VCR humming if it is!;)

Yay. Can't wait. :D
GAnderson 02-13-2004, 02:38 AM Yay! Green Acres! Woo Hoo!
I can safely predict that April 3 & 4 will be a helluva busy weekend for my vcr, as well as myself. Its also the first week of the baseball season, and being a hardcore fantasy baseball owner, I'll be running upstairs to my PC for the baseball action and downstairs to repeatedly change vcr tapes. I may have to take that Monday off from work just to recover from the stress.
I may even implement a back up plan for recording just in case the cable goes out.....(you never know, it helps to think ahead when it comes to important events like this).
I've been waiting for this to come back on S-o-o-o-o-o-o-o long!
(Plus, I'm a cheapskate so I'd never buy any tapes when there's the outside chance it may be aired. Heck, I'm still waiting for another AMC Laurel & Hardy marathon to replace the worn out tapes from the last one 10 years ago).
Bring on the square eggs and the paint eating house!
Now if we can just get new episodes of MST3K to be aired....

Mr. Television 02-13-2004, 02:44 AM I'm very happy that Green Acres is back on TV. Now if only TV Land would put The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction back on it would be perfect.
