Does anyone know why Farrah Forke left the cast of "Wings" after a couple of seasons?
Did she decide to leave in order to work on other projects, or was the character of Alex written out of the series because "it just wasn't working out"?
Whatever the reason for her leaving was, it couldn't have been TOO unpleasant, because Farrah DID return to "Wings" as Alex for a one-shot guest appearance after her departure.
So what's the scoop here?

Im not really sure why she left wings but I can tell you that she played a part in the show ... Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman on TNT

I think she left to do another show. It was short lived though. Also, there was an episode of Ned & Stacey where she guest starred and dated Ned Dorsey, of course, played by Thomas Haden Church.

I heard she was fired, but I don't know how true that is. I really liked her. She was funnier than Casey.

I was trying to remember all the circumstances why Farrah Forke left the series and I remembered she had a serious medical problem with breast implant complications. I found some info on Farrah :
Born: (January 12, 1967)
Portrayed Mayson Drake on 'Lois and Clark,' Nikki on 'Mr. Rhodes,' Carey on 'Dweebs' and Alex on 'Wings'
Appeared in 'Disclosure,' 'Fractals,' 'Heat,' 'Ground Control' and 'Kate's Addiction'
She had breast implants and when one ruptured, she claimed the implants were poorly made and the silicon leak gave her 'pain and fatigue.' She sued Dow (the manufacturer of the implants) and her surgeon.
She is named for family friend Farrah Fawcett. She was fired from 'Wings.' Insiders say the NBC was not happy with her goofing around during the 'Wings' press tour, others think it is because she went public with her breast implant suit (1994).
She was so popular that her guest appearance on 'Wings' turned into a steady role.

Oh my gosh, was that HER?
I remember when an actress was going to sue over a ruptured breast implant, but I didn't make the connection and realize that she was "Our Farrah"!
I'd like to found out more about that "Wings" press tour....Sounds like some interesting stories could come out of THAT!

I'm surprised that her one appearance earned her a recurring role for the rest of the season and becoming a cast member the next year. That's interesting. I figured she quit, I had no idea she was fired.

I'm surprised that her one appearance resulted in a continuing role too...especially since I don't think that she was funny or even likeable in that first appearance....
Did I say "likeable"? I couldn't even STAND her!
(To Farrah's credit, she DID manage to make the character of Alex more human and likeable in later episodes. Some may credit the writers for that change, and part of the credit SHOULD go to them, but Farrah was also able to soften that hard-as-nails "bruiser" character to the point where she became someone that we cared about).
