Just wondering since I just seen ep 100 and he was on it. I'm thinking it's soon or does he make it through season 3?

I looked at one of the LITB episode guides and it seems that Larry left right before Richard Rickover came on the scene. The last ep I believe Larry was in was #108 where he and Beaver find a wallet. This was right near the end of season 3.

From www.tvtome.com , Larry's final appearance in season 3 is ep#109, "Mother's Day Composition." However, he is credited in 2 eps from season 4, #122, 123, with his final appearance (other than the flashbacks in the series finale) in "Beaver's Big Contest."

Being phased out gently seemed to be the way of it in LITB. You can also see in season 3 that Chester [Buddy Hart] and Tooey [Tiger Fafara] only made 2 appearances, eps 97 and 113, and that Judy's [Jeri Weil] apperances become rarer, then in "Beaver and Ivanhoe" (#114) Penny [Karen Sue Trent] assumes the role of a like character.

Larry's last appearance during Season 3 was episode #109 Mother's Day Composition. He was absent in episode #110 thru #122, but reappeared in two episodes during Season 4. Larry's last appearance on Leave It To Beaver was in the Season 4 episode Beaver's Big Contest. :)

Oh ok thanks. That's wierd that he would be gone for a long while and then reappear again.

It is rather interesting to look at the actors' appearances by production number of the episodes, as well as the order of their presentations (which are the numbers so far discussed in this thread).

The production numbers for season #3 are 13201 through 13239. Larry appears in 14 of the first 15 eps, then he is absent in 16 & 17, he is in 18, 19, 21, misses 22 & 23, then he is in 24-32, except for one (27), then finally he is out for the last 7.

Observing the actors' appearances by production number shows the eps which required the same actors or auxiliary settings were filmed in clusters. For example, in the classroom set where Beaver, Larry, Miss Landers, Whitey and Judy are all there are in #1,2,12,13,14,15. Then, 37 and 39 are that same set minus Larry. It may be surprising that Miss Landers is not seen for 21 straight eps (by production number) in season 3, because her appearances by episode presentation are much more spaced out.

Thanks for that info. I thought I would know what episode you are talking about, but it doesn't come to mind. Can you fill me in a little more about that episode? What kind of contest?

Thanks!

BeavLover,

In the episode "Beaver's Big Contest", Beaver is selling tickets as a benefit for the hospital. For every ten tickets that he sells, Beaver gets a free ticket. Beaver wins third prize in the contest, a $3500 sports car. Ward makes Beaver sell the car and puts the money in his college fund. Larry is shown playing with Beaver. The boys have rigged up a pretend race car and take turns driving it.

Jeri Weil also made her last appearance as Judy Hensler early in the 4th season, but I can't remember which ep was her last.
BTW, Karen Sue Trent appeared as the girl on the horse who entices Beaver and Larry away from their dance lesson and onto her horse in a 3rd season ep (I can't remember the ep name right now.), then I think she made her first appearance as Penny Woods in the last-aired ep of the 3rd season, where she gives away the secret football play to Beaver's opponents. Beaver yells at Penny for doing that, sometime after Penny says she likes Beaver, and they didn't seem to like each other very much from then on.

If I remember correctly, Larry and Richard were in at least one episode together. The Mother's Day Composition, I think Richard sat right in back of Larry. Larry's last appearance was in the episode regarding the contest when Beaver wins the car. Judy and Penny did appear on the same show, but not together. Beaver was playing Ivanhoe, and saw Penny being pushed around by her brother. As the school bus pulls up, Judy is in the bus yelling, while Penny and her brother were fighting with Beaver.  :talk:  ;):happyface
