So far I've seen a couple of "Wings" episodes that use the old "GOTCHA!" gag....That's when one or more of the characters use other people to help "sting" another character (usually to teach him or her a much-needed lesson).

Joe and Helen had an actor (Craig Berko) help them teach Brian a lesson in "The Puppetmaster", and just the other night Helen had a girlfriend of hers pose as an undercover insurance investigator to scare the daylights out of Joe and Brian in "The Fortune Cookie".

The great thing about these "GOTCHA!" scams is that I NEVER see them coming while they're being played out!

On other sitcoms, whenever schemes like that are being performed, you can usually see through them and say to yourself, "Oh, this is a phony setup!".....but on "WINGS" they suck you in right along with the scam victim, and when the setup is revealed, you're just as surprised as the victim is!

Now THAT's excellent writing and acting!
