I just bought it at Best Buy today. It was on sale for $11.99. Haven't listened to it yet.

I haven't gotten the chance to go to the music store to buy the CD, but I figured that while I wait for that, I would download it. I love it sooooooooo much! :) I actually added some other songs that I really liked from the show, too (like American Folksong, Where the Boys Are, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, etc). I dunno, I just felt like the CD kindof missed some really good songs, but its still a really awesome soundtrack! I was dancing all around my room when I first listened to it, lol. That just makes me think...how awesome would it have been to actually dance on American Bandstand!! I probably would have even moved just to get the chance to get on the show! :lol:

Yeah, I think, too, that they missed a couple of good songs (like I Wanna Hold Your Hand). But, I love my newest CD!! How does anyone like Brittany & Venessa singing in the background in "My Boyfriend's Back?" You can hardly hear Brittany!

My favorite song has to be either the theme song, "Wishin' and Hopin', or "The Sound of Silence."

Just got the American Dreams Original Soundtrack 1963-1964 Album CD ... mainly because I like the theme song but I also like some of the others. Got a thing for retro stuff like Motown, Beach Music, and Big Band.

Back to my point. I noticed the theme music is 1 minute longer than the one played during the opening credit of the show. It also feature additional lyric to make it 1 minute longer. In any case, I was able to get most except for one line.

I tried so hard to make out the "missing text" part short of blowing my eardrums. If anyone can fill in the blank -- even correct the lyric -- I welcome your help.

P.S. IMHO, the soundtrack is decent but I've seen better choice of oldies mix. Too bad they didn't want to feature the "Just Another American Folk Song" by Warren Sroka.

Well, that line would jive with Mdanner423 interpretation of the missing text.

Need more people to form a consensus, unless Emerson or NBC post the official lyric to the Album edit.
