What did you think of the Disney movie ? For me, the difference came as the weapon started to twirl - it showed something the movie was lacking up until that point, FINESSE ! That's what helps to seperate some of the different episodes and "make overs".
They even changed the dialogue from the movie to the video. The "original" Martian
said "You always were obtuse" which became
different.
