Hello everyone,
I was surfing the Internet today and found this site that said that there was an alternative ending to "I do, Adieu" and that it would probably be included when they make the 5th season DVD. Has anyone ever seen this alternative ending or knows what happens in it?

I'm not sure of what it is about. But it's the ending that was shot in front of an audience, ounce they left they shot the real ending. I want to see it!

I just read in Amazon.com that there WAS an alternate ending to I do, Adieu in which in front of a studio audience Sam and Diane did go through with the ceremony and were married. The real ending was not shot in front of a studio audience.

So conclusion you were right the first time steve..lol,

What site did you find that on?

just go to amazon.com and search for Cheers the complete first season DVD. and then when you see it, go to product details, and go to the trivia/ quotes section and i think its listed there.

by the way I know you were one of the people reading my Sam and Diane fanfic, and I wanted to let you know that I have added to it but I am no longer posting it on sitcoms online. I'm glad that ending ended the way it did

Like most Diane Fans I would have to say I disagree, even though it was the best possible ending they could have had, I mean Shelley Long did leave the show. But Lets just say she didn't leave it, then "perfect ending" to that season would have been them getting married.

I heard about that years ago. They obviously did that so the real ending wouldn't leak out to the press.

I've heard this alot too. supposedly (ive never seen it either...i hope it'll be on the season 5 DVD! lol), all the get married/dont get married/all the betting/etc. during the ceremony still happened, only sam didnt butt-in in the last "change of mind", and they get married. the audience cheered really loud, and the ending scene wasn't Sam and Diane alone, but just a little after the ceremony during a reception at the bar, where everyone just kinda toasts Sam and Diane.

this was on a website i have lost the address a long time ago (it was in Germany or somethin) and the guy was at this ep's taping. there was a pic of the ticket stub on his page, i remember

so if none of this is right, dont blame me ...lol
