View Full Version : what year or episode was the Donny Hansen story in Humboldt County
dementedpyrospiders 05-03-2003, 01:58 AM Is it possible to buy a video copy of Unsolved Mysteries? I have a girlfriend who is a direct cousin of Donny Hansen who was wrongfully accused of killing one of his two half sisters. I saw the episode just ONCE on the show, but like to see it again and like to have a VCR video copy for myself. The thing is, I don't know if and when they are gonna show that particular episode. I actually met my girlfriends cousin Donny and he doesn't want to talk about what happened and he says his mom set him up. He doesn't even want to talk to his mom or talk about her no more as long as he lives.. and i don't blame him.
I tell you people one thing here, i myself was in jail on New Years Eve 2000 cause some women was so drunk she fell and hurt the side of her head bleeding, and i called 911. The police followed the ambulance and said "he pushed me". Well, i was in jail for the 1st time (and hopefully the last) for something i didn't do. I was in jail for only 8 days, but i now know what jail is like and it ain't a pretty sight. I was medically neglected and was abuse and after i got out for the next year, tryed getting a lawyer to help sue the police and jailers with no luck. Now i know what it's like to be in a situation like poor Donny Hansen was in. Justice isn't right in this so called free country.
crystaldawn 05-03-2003, 07:57 AM I have this story on one of my UM tapes. Let me know if you're interested.
njf520 05-03-2003, 11:33 AM it has been on twice in the last 3 months on lifetime during the day. very interesting case.
i am *not* saying he did it but there seemed to be LOTS of info that implicated him. i would love to know what really happened.
njf
UM aired the Donny Hansen story during the 1993-94 season (probably in the fall of 1993).
hoopajackson 06-16-2003, 06:43 PM Not olny did I go to school with these Girls, Jill& Julie, I remember this incident.
there were two girls, twin sisters, that were murdered because of whatever happened that night.
not knowing the truth I would like to find out more information on this case too.
canadianmysterygrl 04-15-2004, 01:31 AM I totally think he did it. Why else would there be all the evidence against him? The gas purchase receipt....the gun....all his lies.... I feel so sorry for his parents. Such a shame the one girl who survived initially ended up dying from an air bubble in her IV.
"If" he did do it I hope he feels horrible guilt and pays that way. I don't blame is parents for writing him off....AND IT WAS THE PARENTS WHO CUT HIM OFF NOT HE WHO STOPPED TALKING TO THEM....as implied by the thread starter.
Sorry but I can't get too excitted about someone bragging they have a girlfriend whose cousin is suspected of brutally killing his twin sisters and nearly his parents too.........fame by association? I do not think he would have changed his name if he were so innocent. What a sad terrible loss these parents have experienced.
Rieder 04-15-2004, 09:40 PM The 1986 deaths of the Hansen twins was originally broadcast on 10 November 1993.
mysteryboy 05-13-2004, 03:37 PM I completely agree with canadianmysterygrl on this one. Donny Hansen looks to be as guilty as sin. If he was so innocent, why appear in silhouette, change his name, & have his voice disguised? In any event, the fire took place on 11/14/1986 in Willow Creek, Ca. To the origional poster: If you get a chance to view this episode again & you still believe Donny is innocent, then shame on you. I feel so bad for those parents, but I completely understand & support their decision to disown Donny. He (Donny) will always have to live with that guilt on his chest. He deserves no sympathy. I have done extensive research on this story & I could not be any more convinced of his guilt

all I have to say is "WOW!"
bumping an old thread.
italia 04-26-2009, 02:44 AM LMAO @ dementedpyrospiders
seriously how old are you? i hope since you've posted this b.s you have come back to read it over and think wtf was going thru your sick brain at the time. Or better yet why don't you disclose your f-ed up childhood because it is very clear to me you are not all there.
If I was guilty I would say and do anything to continue covering up my past. And how low of him to blame his mother a grieving mother who lost everything she lived for. What a coward and you are no better than him.
Oh yeah why don't you grab your dam balls & man the hell up crying & bitching over jail. hahaha what the station? County? Please 8 days is barely enough to process you so you didn't even go out of retention numb nuts!
And Donny tell him I said you two should hook up become lesbians!
xoxo:lol:
kadrmas15 04-26-2009, 03:16 AM Well I do think Donny is guilty, I think that is almost as low as the murders themselves is blaming his mother for 'setting him up'. However that said, italia, I am assuming you have never been in jail? Just the way you sounded off you would not last half a day either side of the bars. I was in jail once for a few hours and I will say that it is a terrible experience. Granted I deserved to be there but the general public really needs to get over themselves that jail is supposedly this country club atmosphere when it really is not.

Wow. I am no Donny Hansen apologist--I do actually believe he is guilty. But this vicious, ad hominem attack against a poster is really unnecessary, and downright cruel. This person is speaking from personal experience, and obviously has a different point of view. It's fine to point out that you simply don't believe Donny's account, and that one shouldn't decide what happened in this case based on just wha Donny said, but, ridiculing, villifying, and personally attacking this poster is out-of-bounds, IMO.
Oh, and I agree with the poster above. Eight days in jail is nothing to laugh at--and mocking someone for being a whiney bitch who doesn't have the "balls" to handle some time in jail is really beyound the pale.
Oh, and one more thing. As I said, I do believe Donny was guilty, based on the evidence. But, I don't see how him changing his name and wanting to appear in silhouette points to his guilt. If someone truly were wrongly accused of murder, was acquitted, and wanted to be able to put the horrible experience behind him, and start a new life, I can see them wanting to change their name, and not appear on a national television show, so all the new people in his life will now know about the worst experience of his life.
rarjake 02-01-2014, 06:34 AM Just got done watching this case. I honestly can't believe, it. How in the hell did this jury find him NOT GUILTY. It makes no sense. How the hell did jury believe this defense. It was basically laughing, and saying 'are you f'ing kidding me'
it was his GUN, his GAS.
but some unknown guys came in and used his gun from his car, and his gas. LOL. it makes no sense at all.
Really disgusting, that no one is paying for this crime. Really is. This is one of the dumbest defenses I have ever heard, and it was accepted.
Oh yeah, not to mention that the other daughter before she died from a'freak medical accident' said she saw Donnie in a flash.
But of course that was not allowed in court. (although it may be nowadays, there was a case in my city, where a wife left a letter saying if i die, it was my husband, and it was allowed into evidence)
But that is besides the point, even without her statement, there was more than enough. His gun, his gas cans. That should been more then enough. I am the type of person too, that always gives the defendant the benefit of the doubt. I was one of the only people I know that was saying that Casey Anthony was NOT GUILITY. Not because she didn't do it, but their was not enough hard evidence pointing to her.
But someone please explain to me, how 12 members of the jury, can believe this story. How can 12 members believe that some random guys, for no reason, used Donnies gun and gas cans. I am trying to look at it from every way possible, but it just makes no sense.
rarjake 02-01-2014, 06:40 AM LAWL> I just read the above posts. Some guy is trying to compare something a drunk women accused him of doing, to hard core evidence.
It was his gun, and his gas cans. Not only that he was caught trying to go back to hide more evidence. Not only that the sister had said she seen Donnie in a flash. Not only that Donnie said he was side by side with these guys, but he doesn't get shot or killed?
Also to the above poster, his parents disowned him. I have a copy of it, and watched it. The parents said back then they know he was responsible. They never wanted to see him again, and considered him dead. But denial can create some f'd up opinions in your head. Why would his mother kill her own two daughters? The fact that you even believe that shows you really are not a very intelligent person.
Side Point. What is up with all these family members, and or friends commenting on topics in here. I have noticed that alot.
Mystery Man 02-04-2014, 04:32 PM Yeah, someone in another thread said they didn't wanna send him to death row without 100 percent evidence showing he did it. While what he (most likely) did was wrong, with their being holes in the case and all, execution would most definitely not be the answer.
Also, I know this is a 10 year old post i'm replying too, but...anyone think Donnie possibly became a "nice guy" after he put the incident behind him? What if one day you found out he was a co-worker or friend? Talk about a trip.
