On AITF, Edith broke her foot in the hospital while being treated for someting else.
On Coach, Hayden Fox broke a few ribs.
On Family Ties, Steven Keaton had a heart attack.

Also, in the Perfect Strangers episode in which Balki gets his driver's license, during the course of the exam, the instructor made Balki drive to the hospital on account of a heart attack (or whatever would allow you to "have more gas than Exxon"). IIRC his lunch acted up.
On Barney Miller Yemana had appendicitis.
Robert Tilton 05-02-2003, 04:03 AM One of the more classic emergencies on situation comedy television was the episode of Tonselitis that Cindy Brady had on the Brady Bunch. This episode had that certain savoir faire that made for Righteous Viewing Man. And the good Dr. got the adenoids while he was at it.
