I think the worst date was Joes, the biker that was in the part with Brian also had a part on cheers where he was one of the painters that worked for Norm

I won't be able to see tonight's episode!! I went out tonight and just got home. Had the VCR set and the brother didn't turn it off when he went to bed, so nothing taped. :crying: Any ideas for a punishment for my bro? HA!:smash:

I thought that Brian's date was Roz from Frasier. Of course I sill like Lowell. I don't think he will be foing out on that 2nd date. I like how they had him talk about his kids. I can't remember if they ever showed any of his kids. That would have been something that they could have done more with him. If they were to do another show, he could come back to see one of his kids graduate or do something. Lowell Jr could have followed in his footsteps and became a mechanic for the airport.

Yes, Brian's date WAS "Roz" from "Frasier"....and she was PERFECT for that hell-on-wheels stockbroker!

Someone here once mentioned that that actress was originally supposed to play Helen Chappel on "Wings". As much as I enjoy "Roz", I'm glad that Crystal Bernard ended up with the part of Helen....Crystal gives the character a nice mix. She can be ripping somebody's head off one minute and pull at your heartstrings with a sad scene the next.
As good as she is, I think that "Roz" is just too all-around TOUGH to be able to pull off the more tender side of Helen.

I don't know, but for some reason last night's "disaster date" episode just didn't grab me. I've seen the "let's all sit around and tell what happened to each one of us" thing done on other shows ("Taxi" and others), and I thought that some of the "date" stories were just too wild and cartoonish.
I like the stories where the characters interact with each other much better.

I think it was a toss up between Joes and Brians date ... both turned out to be dates from hell, lol @ the part where the wooden puppet started putting its hand on Joes thigh ...

I thought it was a funny episode. I think Brian had the worst date. Proof that you can't always judge a person by their looks :D

I wonder why they didn't include Antonio in their stories. Maybe there wasn't enough time for five bad date stories. Of course, we got to hear quite a few from him throught the series  Who can forget Edna?

I remember that when they did the "solo story" theme on "Taxi" (What each cabbie did as a new job when the taxi company temporarily shut down), it was a two-part episode so every cast regular had a chance to tell his or her story.

Don't forget Antonio was the one who told them about the dating service and he was having great success, "I think its the accent"

I remember that  Reverend Jim's story was definitely the best. "I just remembered that I don't sell carpet cleaners. i'm an encyclopedia salesman!" (This was said after he made a huge mess on a woman's expensive carpet while trying to convince her to buy a cleaner.)   Good times, good times....

yeah! That was a funny episode last night.

oh man, you know, at 1 AM, I'm almost sleeping so i may have heard this wrong, but the part when it showed the 4 of them making their videos for the dating service, when they asked who would play each of them in the movie of their life, did Brian say LaVar Burton???!!!
That's the guy who played Geordi LaForge on Star Trek: The Next Generation!! haha!
I'm not sure if that's really what he said becaue I was sooo tired, but I was laughing soooo had. is that what he said?
that's awesome. I love Brian.

and I liked that part of the episode- when each of them was answering the questions for the tape.
Lowell was sooo funny- "sexiest part of the body? chest hair... oh, you mean on a woman!... uh, then my answer still stands!" LOL!

oh! and at the beginning when Faye went rambling on about the gloves she made that had an extra finger, and how she could fit a roll of lifesavers in it, but people get offended when she wears them.. haha! that was great. and I loved the weird looks the others were giving her.

I agree with Pilotguy. I like the episodes where they are all together interacting with one another. Not the one on one with a date type thing. It was funny, though. Brian's was easily the worst. He almost drowned! Althugh Helen's date turned into a jerk making her wait on all those tables. If Antonio was there, he could have waited on all those tables. He has the experience.
:D

A couple of other episodes that inlcude the whole "One on One" storylines are "Moonlighting", where they each tell of their worst off-season jobs. And then there was "Life Could Be a Dream." I'm sure there's more, but I'm getting off topic here.

I love the ensemble episodes best too.

And about the "Moonlighting" episode: Dan Castlanata (sp), also known as Homer Simpson, is in it. He's the guy Antonio stops from killing himself. Just thought I'd share that fun fact :D

I thought this episode was hilarious, but not because of the bad dates. What got me was the dating videos. I loved Helen's chimpmunk laugh!! She's so cute! And Joe a sometimes risk-taker, as long as its done in a controlled environment. And everything Lowell and Brian said.

Did anyone else notice that when Brian was saying what he looked for in dates were sexiness, that there was a bug flying around Steven Weber's head? He looked at it but just kept going.

and oh yeah, about Helen's chipmunk laugh-
I always thought it sounded like a squirrel laugh! Chipmunks just kinda squeak. I always thought she totally sounds like a squirrel when she laughs... hehe
