View Full Version : Thick hair!!
Tuesday Weld 04-29-2003, 06:59 PM Does anyone else here have thick hair?I hate it,always have. You can't do anything with it,it doesn't style well,it takes forever to dry, etc.People who don't have thick hair think it must be so wonderful, but it's annoying!!
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 04-29-2003, 07:04 PM Try having thin hair. My thin hair does absolutly nadas. Its also stick straight (which I love.. better than curly) and is ultra fine. I always thought I had thick hair, but my stylist said its not thick-- I have a love of hair, but its thin.
fr00ti 04-29-2003, 07:07 PM Mine is so freaking thick! I swear to god I hate it!

Pitooey 04-29-2003, 07:13 PM I really think God gave me extra, extra pores on my scalp. So Yes My hair is thick...

I agree with everything you said. My hair is thick AND curly. It is so hard to comb and I hate it. Straight haired people always tell me how lucky I am to have it.
~LadyJess~ 04-29-2003, 07:31 PM I have thick hair and it's sort of long too. It takes forever to dry which is why I wake up extra early to take a shower in the morning so I can get an extra hour of sleep and not have to spend that much time blowdrying it.
-*Leah*- 04-29-2003, 07:38 PM I have very thick hair, and its long too. I have to wear my hair in a ponytail the day after I wash my hair at night, so that I won't have to dry it. After a day I have one day where it looks half way decent down, then I have to start the whole process over again.
Titania 04-29-2003, 07:57 PM i have really really thick curly hair....it takes an eternity to dry and is so hard to do anything w/
people are always like "you have a lot of hair!" or "you have too much hair!" agh..its annoying
#1_Nancy_McKeon 04-29-2003, 08:27 PM I have extremely thick hair. It's getting long again, and it gives me headaches. The only time I don't have that constant weight on me is when it's above my shoulders, but I don't like my hair that short. I swear when I get my hair cut just a few inches I FEEL the difference in the weight. My grandmother was the same way she had to keep hers real short otherwise it would give her headaches also.
I have the same problem with my hair drying as you guys do. I take a shower at night and still by the next morning it's still damp.
AllIWantIsYourClutch 04-29-2003, 08:41 PM Gah I have thick hair....i hate it...but I got it cut and layered so its all like....light...well lighter. yah it sucks. People cut my hair and they're like "GOD! You have so much hair!!!!"

Yes, my hair is thick. You're right; sometimes it's hard to style. But, overall, I really don't mind it... it's better than going bald!

Yeah, I have thick hair too and that's the same thing I just did. It's been a lot easier to handle lately, but I always have to put my hair in rubberbands at night and it helps a little, too.
Drying my hair, forget it. It's the same with everyone with thick hair I guess. I'm probably in the bathroom for a half hour drying my hair lol.

I hear ya...same with me. Everybody tells me to wear my hair down but they don't seem to realize what a pain in the ass it is!
My friend got a perm that only made her hair wavy and even THAT was murder...she no longer tells me to wear my hair down.

lol you just described my hair.
AnaheimPMWitch 04-29-2003, 10:01 PM My Hair is EXTREMELY thick and Straighter then STRAIGHT I barely ever blow dry it because it takes me about a Half and Hour to do
Usually when I keep it long (which I like it long better) I put it up
oh but the BEST shampoo to use (and I SWEAR by it) is Pantene Prov it makes Your hair shiny and it doesnt feel AS weighed down
(NOT trying to sound like the commercial here but its true)
*PinkLady* 04-30-2003, 01:29 PM Mine's pretty thick, but it doesn't bother me too much because I keep it really short.

SAME HERE! I have really thick, long hair. I hate it, but it was much worse before when it was shorter. Last year it was up to my shoulders and since it was thick it just looked...bad. I like it more now.

Oh wow. That sounds so much like me, lol. Only I always keep mine down except for sports and running and stuff. And yes I use Pantene Pro-V too, but for color treated hair because of my highlights.
Mossopp 04-30-2003, 04:35 PM My hair is quite thick on top (somewhat like myself  ) but I keep it real short so it's not really a problem. I cover it in 'max. strength' hair gel to make it spikey so getting it under control isn't really a problem.
TibbyTibby2 04-30-2003, 04:46 PM i have thick hair poo

Same with me for everything you said, Miranda. Except my Grandma didnt say that...but you know...lol
I had mine thinned once, and it almost made it more thick. It was weird.

Brandon 04-30-2003, 11:23 PM i have thick hair and i couldn't be happier! my dad, my uncle, and my grandfather all are bald on top now. but i have been blessed with my momma's hair jeans.
Just Popped In 05-01-2003, 03:12 AM I guess that learning to appreciate your hair comes with age. Mine is thick and has a lot of body since it's so wavy.
I can't honestly say that I love my thick hair, but I admit that in the past, I've gotten it thinned out a couple times with the thinning shears (professionally), and I wasn't happy with that. I didn't know what products to use, or how to handle my thinner hair, and it was beginning to feel like straw (although that's probably not the case for people with naturally thinner hair than mine).
It's a nice thing to become accustomed to what God gives us to the point that we can appreciate it.
Krystal Lake 05-01-2003, 10:15 AM I do. It's thick in texture, and I have about double the amount of a normal person's head.

It's a pain in the ass to take care of. It takes 2 hours to do every day (wash and blowdry.) But I wouldn't have it any other way. I used to hate my hair for being like this, but I'm always getting told how great it looks, so I guess it isn't so bad afterall... :)
