We are delighted that to have Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore on Larry King Live on Friday, May 2nd. We would like the promote the interview extensively. I am in charge of promoting it via the Internet and ask for your help.

Would it be possible to promote on your website Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore on Larry King Live? This would be done by putting on your web site something as simple as "Watch Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore on CNN's Larry King Live on Friday, May 2nd at 9 pm EST/6pm PT. For more information, please visit www.cnn.com/larryking"

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail me or call me at 202-898-7695. Larry's web site is:
www.cnn.com/larryking

All the best,

Eleanor Spektor

I can't wait till tonight for Larry King! He must've changed his schedule, then changed it back b/c last night it said Dick and Mary wouldn't be on till tomorrow but now it says they're on tonight. Sorry about that.

It was sure nice to see them together again but does anyone else think that Larry King is sort of lame. He clearly was unprepared and kept interrupting them (come to think of it most of his interviews aren't much better). Made the the interview a bit frustrating imo. But it was great to Dick and Mary reminiscing.

At least we got to see a preview of the much maligned Brownstein version of The Dick Van Dyke Show DVD package.

...I can't remember where the dvd on dvd soap opera left off. Did Doug Denoff put aside his differences w/ Mr. Brownstein or was that yet another set they showed on LKL?

Sorry to say, but after seeing some clips, "The Gin Game" looks like
it'll be painful.

Yeah, I'm afraid so, Steve...
(And that's a pretty good Laura impression.) God, I love 'em.
I always want them to be great.
And it's all sunk into my soul over
the years. The show, them, the
characters, what it represents (or
what I want it to represent). Just
the appeal of it all. Still works.
And, I guess, I don't wanna see
them play "old." Or nasty. That
was more for Jessica Tandy and
Hume Cronyn. They were probably
great. It's gotta fit. Maybe
they should just reminisce, or
if Carl Reiner would write a book
about the show and everyone comment
what they remember about each episode.
God. I'd love that. Or add detailed
commentary to the DVDs. I'd like to
it all tied up somehow...in a way that's nice, and works. A tribute and a bow
at the same time. Maybe see Mary
and Dick host SNL together with
a one nice sentimental skit. Doing
"You Wonderful You" or something.
Anyway, 77 and 66. Wow. And we're
older too. Still great to see 'em.
And great to see DVD without the mustache. Looks much better. And
glad he finally stopped smoking.
(Whereas, Mary/Laura was always
smokin'! Even at 66.)

I saw them on Larry King last night. I didn't tune in until after the beginning. But, I loved having an hour or so listening to Dick & Mary! My favorite part was at the end, when Dick sang "Who Can Turn the World on With Her Smile" to Mary! It was a wonderful surprise. I loved all the clips they showed.

I usually don't watch Larry King Live, but made an exception this time. I really enjoyed the interview, and Dick singing the Mary Tyler Moore theme song was just great.

I loved it too... :D We promoted it extensively through The Barry Bunch International groups and on the PAX Board. Lots of people in Europe have watched it too ... at 3 AM on Saturday (mind you!) ;)

LOL I've been bad, I taped it ...and since CNN usually sticks to a rough transcript I put one up myself for all our entertainment only! (No copyright infringements intended! It's made in my own European way with full credit to CNN - and hugs to Larry King! :D)

Griddy,
That's a great transcript! Mind if I post a link to it from my site, in case anybody missed the show? It must've taken a lot of hard work to write that out!

No! Course I don't mind ;) The more the merrier!

And LOL ... I did have some help -- credit where credit is due!
CNN had a large portion of the transcript up. But I just wasn't completely satisfied with theirs as they left some good parts out and referred to some of our faves as *unidentified woman/man/actor* :D Can't have that!!
