Here he comes in tonight's episode........it's CARLTON BLANCHARD!!!

Carlton is portrayed by veteran actor William Hickey, who performed in movies & tv since the 50's and is recognized as a great "character" actor. Maybe you've seen him before in the following movies: Little Big Man, Sea of Love, Pink Cadillac, The Sentinel, Prizzi's Honor (nominated for Best Supporting Actor), National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Nightmare Before Christmas (voice of Dr. Finkelstein), My Blue Heaven, Mouse Hunt and many, many others! Also a longtime acting coach at the famous HB acting school, some of his students included Steve McQueen & Barbra Streisand.

Mr Hickey passed away in 1997 and believe it or not, he was only 69! He is noted for always looking older than his actual age and subsequently received a lot of offers to perform in roles as elderly gentlemen.

So hats off to William Hickey in one of his more memorable tv performances in the continuing roll of Carlton Blanchard on Wings!

I saw William Hickey in "Forget Paris", also. I think he played Debra Winger's father. He was annoying in that role, too! One scene he was riding in the car with Billy Crystal and reading all the signs they passed, irritating Billy. "MAYBE IT WAS LAS CRUCES'!!:lol:

William Hickey was annoying when he was young too!

I've seen a "Phil Silvers/Sgt. Bilko" episode from the 1950's called "F.O.B. Detroit", and a 20 or early 30-something Hickey plays the whiny, spoiled "rich kid" son of a wealthy tycoon....and Hickey really got on Bilko's nerves!

He was also in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, one of my favorite movies :lol: :lol: :lol:

Wasn't he on an ER episode once? I thought I saw him on it.
