To the person that emailed Dammit:

I just can't believe some people. How dare you send an email to Dammit saying that Dammit was "nothing but a killing machine" and that Dammit "would do anything someone told him as long as it dealt with killing anyone"

I guess that just shows how asanine you really are. I think Dammit did the right thing in not telling me who sent the email, but I kinda feel responsible b/c I'm the one that showed Dammit this site.

And then for someone, who doesn't even know Dammit to send'em an email and basically say that Dammit is a murderer is WRONG! I was so pissed when Dammit told me someone from this board had said that in an email. I just couldn't believe it!

How DARE you say that! It's because of people like Dammit who are willing to give uo their lives for piss ant people like you just so you can sit down infront of your computer and have the right to bash the military.

Ya know, sometimes I wish all the people who have ever called a military personel a murderer could just spend 1 month seeing what these people REALLY do. I really think it would be an eye opener.

Those military people, no matter who they are- Marine, Army, Airforce, Navy, whatever- THEY could be the one to save everyone's lives. Well, I missed whatever happened, but when I read this, it made me sick. I agree with everyone else. Whoever emailed that is a sick looser. Um, I might be looking at this situation a bit differently about who sent the email to Dammit. What if it was a lurker? I don't know about all the boards stuff, but what if a lurker was lurking through topics and they found some posts by Dammit? I'm not sure if you can look at a person's profile if you aren't registered, but what if they registered just to look at his email address? Like I said, I could be wrong. I have no idea about the lurking business. Hell, maybe a lurker can view a profile without even registering.

Dammit, I'm so sorry you got that email. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. I know you must've been in so much pain by the loss of your friend and then to read a **** filled email like the one you got.

Edit: I suspected it was RainMan but before people accusing me of partaking in this "witch hunt" as Kitt says, I will point out several things.

I suspected and ONLY SUSPECTED it was RainMan. I had several good reasons to suspect him. He had made insensitive statements about sensitive issues (i.e. calling the Iranian astronaut in the Columbia crash a "damn Iraqi terrorist", making a mean statement about Laci Peterson's unborn son's name - which has since been deleted by TJ). He had also caused trouble by telling us to kill ourselves. To top it all off, he posted a whole bunch of obscene threads. Any person who has been through all of that would have first guessed it was Rainman who sent the e-mail.

Dammit, you have my condolences. The idiot that sent that e-mail imo is a low class piece of ****. :mad:

On most occassions, I would probably completley laugh off the e-mail as some stupid, uneducated teenager or young adult, but as Ags said, I was kinda having a bad day. Yes, the e-mail was sent from someone on this board. It was not a pm, it was an e-mail, and they did sign their user name to it as well. No, I will not put their name on here, there is no need for a mob lynching. But, as Ags said, they better hope they never meet me face to face.

For the next 48 hours, I will be twidling my thumbs waiting for the replacement to get here so I can get back to work. I hate sitting idly by, especially after stuff like this. We may have to show these Iraqi people how to play baseball. There will be no more playing soccer with them, they are too good, and we don't like losing ;)

And I know he's seeing really bad things over there because in an email he sent us he said he's seen things over there that he doesn't even wanna talk about, because he knows me and my sister will cry, yes we have soft hearts! :(

People put stuff on these boards all the time to blow off steam, and it doesn't seem to be a problem. But, it never ceases to amaze me that whenever I post something, or something is posted about me, you have to argue with it, or be devils advocate or just be a jerk or whatever you want to call it.

It doesn't matter who wrote it. The fact is that it was written by someone on this board. NO ONE ever said you wrote it. It seems to me that you think way too highly of yourself, not everything is always about you.

Ags was pissed off bc someone that y'all converse with on a daily basis decided to send me a nasty e-mail for no apparent reason. Due to me being a little bit busy working, I did not recieve the e-mail for about a week. When I did, it was incredibly bad timing. If I had read this e-mail before going back on a mission, this would be a null point bc I would've laughed at the immaturity of the person that sent it. But, since I had just put a buddy on a C130 on his way back to the states with a flag that will eventually be given to his wife. This buddy of mine, none of y'all will ever hear about his death on any news station. He will be given a military funeral, and his wife will probably be told he died in a training mission. But, it will be my duty to go see her when this is all over and I am back in the states to tell her that her husband died when we were attacked. We were being shot at from 3 different sides and someone got on a roof behind me. He died trying to shove me out of the way bc I was about to be shot in the back of the head. He died when the bullet hit just above the flackjacket and severed his artery. He died looking me in the eye telling me to take care of his wife and boy. He died making sure that the bastard who shot him would be free.

I did post knowing the facts Kitt! I've never accused anyone nor asked people do you know who did it. I just want the person to know who did it that it was wrong and I really hope they feel bad especially b/c of when Dammit received it.

Call me crazy, but I don't see accusing me of starting a witch hunt and not having all of my facts as being polite. The way I read it was Kitt being very condescending.

I agree that I want it over. However, I have a problem with somebody telling me that I'm just trying to stir the pot and make trouble without any facts. I had the facts, just b/c a name was not revealed does not mean I don't have my facts. I WANT this to be over...in fact this was a nice discussion until Kitt showed up and started accusing people of having poor judgements. Who is he to say what is good and bad judgements? This didn't start out for a fight...this started out for the person who sent the email.

One thing troubles me with this whole scenario. I've read many of Dammit's prior posts and he's very outspoken. Truth is, if a person reads his first entries on these boards, they'd think he was a troll. As time went on though, he stopped creating trouble.
What troubles me is: why won't he tell us who wrote the e:mail? The person certainly deserves to be banned. It doesn't make sense that Dammit would want to protect that person. I suggested in a previous post that he should at least tell TJ. Why the secrecy?
Sorry if I get accused of bashing a hero here, but the best example of Dammit's 'outspoken' personality is the link I'm providing here. Here, he purposely creates a thead to start a fight about Nancy McKeon on The Division board. He admits it, and not only that, but he states that a moderator instructed him to do so.
This is where my confusion comes in. After reading the following link, it doesn't make sense that he won't divulge the mystery author of the e:mail.

The point of this post was to voice my feelings that somebody on these boards would do this. I'm not accusing anybody, I'm not telling other to accuse people. If people are feeling that they are being accused, then maybe they have a guilty conscience about something.

This was a nice thread until you came into Kitt. Nobody else HAD to know who sent it. Nobody was stirring the post to cause trouble until you posted.

You know what...believe what you want. This is being turned into a big fight, not what I had planned. I'm ending this now. It happened, if you believe it great, if you don't that's fine with me I don't care.

I think you made a good point. Just reading what Ags has put, it could be any explanation. It's not too hard to put another sn.
