Hey! :happyface

I was really worried that I would miss tonite's episode, but I got to watch it! ...and I'm soo glad that I did! I really liked it!! I was really happy that JJ and Beth got back together..yAy! I totally love them as a couple. Not sure if anyone noticed (or if it was even a big deal) but towards the beginning when JJ and Beth were talking in the record store and Beth was like, so are you dating anyone, the song in the background said "...One nite stand". I was like hmmm sounds like JJ and Colleen. lol. And I really loooved Beth's dress and that whole moment w/ JJ and Beth at the prom. Aww! But other than that, the whole episode was really dramatic. I felt really bad for Patty, but she was being really mean to Will, so I kindof didn't feel as bad for her, but still...
That whole Meg/Roxanne misunderstanding is really sad, too. :( Hopefully though, they'll make up and things will get back to the way they were.

Can't wait until the next new episode :)

Hello,

***This is my first post***

I just finished watching tonight's episode. I like this show a lot. It's one of the most IMPORTRANT shows on television today.(bravo to NBC for having the guts to air it) Once the episode had ended, I knew that I had to find a message board for american dreams online. I don't have ANYONE in my "peer group" that watches this show. :( I like to discuss my favorite shows with other people because, sometimes the producers like to blur the lines and allow you the viewer to draw their own conclusions on a particular story line.

I would like to discuss some of tonight's episode plot twists!

It would be nice to speak with someone who likes the show as much as I do.

ps: please state for the record if you are a:

A) Casual Viewer

B) Moderately Interested Viewer

C) Completely Obsessed Viewer (obsessed in a good way) :D

Mark me down as "C" :happyface

Well, i loved how the theme was set on relationship troubles.
It was a *great* episode, i thought.

I Loved the conflict with Meg/Roxanne, though i pray their friendship gets better. Good to know our Meg is NOT perfect as she seems. I felt bad for Patti during this episode, yet things worked ok with her friend at the end- and loved that she gave her her paper and took the D:) I loved the scene where Patti/Will made up... and im a JJ/Colleen fan and think JJ needs to get over beth, but i thought that ending was WAY to romantic and sweet! Aaaawee. it really was beautiful!
The Shore looks like it will be a blast next week!

all in all, fantastic ep.

and for the question above, American Dreams is my favorite new show, and i need to watch it EVERY week- so i could be on the brink of obsessed! lol. i plan to buy a DVD if it comes out:)!

I really feel bad for Meg, though she did lie to Roxanne. She had good motives, she didn't want Roxanne to get hurt. And I feel bad for Roxanne because she feels betrayed.

Patty needs to be put in her place. She is a little brat, in my opinion.

Henry ought to kick Nathan out of his house.

I am glad that JJ didn't stay will Colleen. I am kinda glad he got back with Beth, but I don't really like her, either. From the previews, it looks like JJ and Beth are going to have sex. I hope not. They should wait.

I am a C to the hundreth power.....

I live in the mountains and have nothing but an antenna for the TV... AD comes in covered in snow and switches from color to black and white, when you can see it well enough to tell it is doing that. The sound is like this: clatter clatter clatter Henry clatter clatter clatter Well Meg, you clatter clatter clatter clatter...

But I would not miss AD for the world... It is the *only* show on TV that I would cancel a date to do anything for....

And JJ rocked last night... You tell her JJ..... You stand up like that and I will even miss American Dreams to go out with you....

It's about *time* you took control...... *melt*

Anyway, my name is Trish and I am an American Dreamsaholic.

good episode!!! wow!!

I liked JJ/Colleen...I dont know something about Beth bothered me, I guess she is a little uptight, but I really liked there scene at the prom (damn JJ looked hot in that tee shirt;) ) it was cute and I am happy for JJ

Meg and Roxanne...hopefully Joe Lawerence will guest star and have some amazing advice for them hehe...hes hot...but I feel bad for Roxanne it seems like she doesnt have really anyone in her life besides Meg, and now that she and Meg are in a fight will..thats not a good thing

I feel bad for Patty, and was happy when she gave her friend her paper...yah but that was a low blow to Will..hes such a cute kid, I will be his friend

Eww Nathan is annoying, but its good they have that type of character and to show that they arent sugar-coating everything and I think the actor who plays him is a good one

B2K IS HOT

i thought that this was a great episode. I am a C(not to mention of Will Estes too.... he's soo fine)but ne ways, I know how Meg and Rox feels, i've been in both of those positions before and its really hard- on both sides.

i sorta felt bad for patty, i mean she shouldn't of corrected her friend in class-in front of every one. Also, that was flat out mean about what she said to Will.

I thought that was really sweet how JJ went over to where Beth was. And I agree SwimFan, he did look very hott in that t-shirt.Did you guys catch how he walked? he was walking like he was all big bad(well to me ne way). i thought it was kinda funny.

Nathan justs bugs the heck outta me. I hate how he influences Sam. Sam's a good kid and he's thinking alright till Nathan just wants to get in there and change sam's opinoins.

With Helen and Jack, I thought that they were gonna have Helen say "Jack, I have something to tell you" and leave it like that and have us wait,ya know, but they didn't, thank gosh. Atleast she might tell him next week.

Well thats enough for me... Can't wait until next week!

I'm definately a C too.

I liked last night's episode. I didn't feel bad for Patty, because Patty is just annoying to me.

As for the Meg/Roxanne thing, I felt bad for Roxanne, and hope that things will be better for the two of them.

I'm a huge Beth/JJ fan, so I'm glad things are starting to look better for the two of them.

Nathan also bugs me. He bugged me from the very beginning. (Well, the first show he was on)

I can't wait for next week's episode, as always!! :)

I think next week's episode will be one of the last few of the first season.

Welcome to the "American Dreams" board, by the way, Sean D!

This was, on the whole, a VERY good episode!!

Hello everyone I'm a newbie hehe...

I wanted to ask if anyone and PLEASE SOMEONE know the name of the Aretha Franklin song that played when JJ and Beth danced at the end of the show? I asked my mother who is supposed to know everything about Aretha and even played the tape to her so she would hear it and she wasnt sure of the name but she recognized the song. Please someone tell me I'm going out of my mind trying to find it.

Thats me.

I hope they do get rid of Nathan soon. He bugs me. If they keep him on i can see him joining the Black Panthers.

I liked it when JJ went to Beths prom and they got back together that was sweet.

I hope that everything between Meg and Roxanne work out.

I sure that you all won't be happy to hear this but,... I think that Nathan is probaly the most important character on the show! :eek2:

(Sean D. is now donning his fire-resistant suit in preparation for the flamming that is coming his way!)

After you all vent your disgust with my position on nathan, I will proceed to make my point. Vent away as much as you like. (One thing though, please remember this is a family show and website. Let's keep it clean people) :)

Please state exactly why you don't like his character. (in detail please)

PS: No, I am NOT kidding or joking about this at all. I want to here from the members on this one because I think that it should be explored further. Obviously!

Sorry to all of you in advance but, I just don't agree with you on this. :(

I'd have to say I'm more in a neutral position on Nathan's character. I agree w/ Sean D on the fact that Nathan is really important. I think that if American Dreams only hade Henry's family (where Henry seems kindof naive about his treatment by Jack at the store, and such) the really picture wouldn't be portrayed. Nathan almost tries to explain to Henry that he is being unfairly treated, which is something that should make us think...just b/c Henry is black, he shouldn't be treated w/ less respect at the store and in life (which is something Nathan is trying to get through to him) HOWEVER, I respect Henry b/c even through all that, he still works hard, which should prove to Jack that he is a great manager.

Now, on the whole thing w/ Nathan and Sam. There, I do agree that Nathan is a bad influence. :( Sam wants great things in life, and Nathan just wants to make trouble. Definitely not the path that should be taken by Sam.

Its true that Nathan does do controversial things...but its b/c back then, not every black was ok w/ the fact that they were being treated w/ less respect. He just seems to respond to it differently than Henry.
...Just what I think.
