I have seen a majority of UM episodes, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something. I was wondering if anyone knows if UM did a segment on a missing boy from Minnesota named Jacob Wetterling. He was abducted at gunpoint in front of his brother and friend back in the late 80's. It seemed like the kind of case that UM would profile.

Also, I saw an episode a few weeks ago that had a very brief segment about an unidentified man found dead. They found no real clues to reveal his identity, except that he was wearing a Grateful Dead t-shirt, and had Grateful Dead ticket stubs in his pockets. There was a note on him as well that revealed his name might be Jason. Does anyone remember this story, and if so, does anyone know if it has been solved? I figured that since it was a very brief special alert, they might not do the update thing. Thanks.

I remember when Jacob Wetterling was abducted but I don't believe the story was ever featured on UM.

I don't believe it is solved, but when it first aired on Lifetime (last summer I think) - somebody e-mailed me and thought they knew the identity of this person. I told them to contact Unsolved Mysteries directly.

The name of the person matched the name 'Jason' that was mentioned in the segment.

I do believe this case was on UM. (I guiess jacob is the name?) The parents were down the street at a party and let the boys ride thier bikes into town to rent a video and on the way home some man with a knife abducted one of the boys. BROKE mey heart b/c the mom cried during the interview saying just the night before her son (Jacob?) had begged her to spend time with him and she didnt b/c she was busy doing laundry so she carries a lot of guilt. To my knowledge the case remains unsolved tho somewhere I saw the brother(s) interviewed and they are all grown up now......

Thanks for the reply. Your description fits the account of what happened. For some reason I really thought that the case was profiled on UM, but wasn't sure. My chances of seeing it are probably slim, and I know for sure that the case isn't solved. People in Minnesota have had to live with this one a very long time. The parents of Jacob have started the Jacob Wetterling Foundation, which is committed to finding missing children and preventing them from being abducted.

Any idea when? I've never seen it. I can only assume Lifetime does not show it.

Well, I have seen it within the last year or two so Lifetime has to be be showing it. The problem with them is that they will repeat the repeats a LOT when there is no need to, they are so many segments they can show.
