Backstory: I teach 6th grade. Currently we are studying poetry. I know you are thinking "woo-freakin'-hoo," right? Well, YES! This week we are going to study Cinquain (pronounced sin-cane ) Poetry. In this type of poetry you have to follow a certain pattern:
Line 1 Topic, 2 syllables
Line 2 descriptive words or phrase, 4 syllables
Line 3 action words or phrase, 6 syllables
Line 4 feeling or more detail phrase, 8 syllables
Line 5 synonym for topic, 2 syllables
So, part of their assignment, after we look at some examples, is to write 5 Cinquain poems of their own. The topics are: animal, famous person, food, friend, & student choice. Well, of course, if you don't give 6th graders examples, they go "HUH? DUH?"
So (now to the on-topic portion of the post), to make an already long post, well, longer...I did a few examples and one of mine was this:
Will, Grace
Funny roommates
Guest stars fill humor plots
Jack and Karen round out the crew
Comedy
Now, how about everybody :D join in & write a Cinquain poem (or heck, any kind of poem) that relates to the good people of Will & Grace!
