LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Picture, if you will, an "American Idol"-like competition in which people try to imitate not Mariah Carey's high notes but Stuart Scott's "Boo-yah!"

That's the gist of a series called "Dream Job" that ESPN is developing. The winner, to be chosen from videotape submissions followed by on-air tests, gets a year-long gig on "SportsCenter."

"Dream Job" is one of several original series being developed under the ESPN Original Entertainment division. "Instead of sitting on our ratings success, we're investing in new properties," Mark Shapiro, head of programming for the cable network, tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Contestants in "Dream Job" will have to show their skills in four categories -- sideline reporting, play-by-play, interviewing and narrating highlights. A panel of judges and viewer voting will determine the winner.

ESPN is also readying a morning show called "Cold Pizza," which will cover sports and other topics in a radio-style format. Current Fox News entertainment reporter (and former "Road Rules" contestant) Kit Hoover will co-host the show.

The network has also renewed sports-talk shows "Pardon the Interruption" and "Around the Horn" and the reality show "Beg, Borrow and Deal."
