NBC should run this show once a week again. I believe that season 1 and 2 would be higher up in the ratings than the crappy fake "everyone is rich and lives in manhattan" crap they run now.
I think we should all write letter to nbc. ,lol

I would support any network airing Sanford and Son. I like the older 70's era shows more then these new "reality" shows as well.

Add me to the list of people who hates reality shows. I wouldn't mind one or two reality shows, but geez, they're going overboard. jmo

That's kind of a cool idea.
Some of those reality shows definitely need to be canned. Ugh.

Ill second that.
When survivor came out it was a neat idea, but after that it got kinda old. Now everyones jumping on the "reality" bandwagon. I really have no room to talk on this subject because I dont watch those shows but i can think of one or two that shoud be canned.

I'm not even going to comment on some of the things you post on these boards. I will just keep my comments to myself.

You know, I kind of forgot to answer the question at hand. I made a remark about all the reality shows, but didn't answer the actual question.
I like the idea of some nights showing old shows. Anything would be better than what they have now. You know what I wished they would do? Have more night game shows. Nope, I do not count a reality show as a game show. On this one station I have, they have this 2 hour block of game shows in the afternoon. 3 pm is Hollywood Squares, 3:30 is Pyramid (Donny Osmond version), 4:00 is Millionaire (Meredith V's version) and 4:30 is Jeopardy. Every once in awhile, I'll catch the game show block and it just makes me miss game shows. I don't have Game Show network, so I don't get to see many game shows. I wished they would have like a game show night or a classic tv night. It don't have to be every week. Hell, I'd be happy with once a month.
I'm just saying, I'm not a fan of reality shows and I choose to NOT watch them. Yet, I can't get away from them. You pick up a magazine and it's just a bunch of crap now. I love buying the tabloids, I know tabloids are mostly fake, but I like to read them. You pick it up now and you'll see Survivor, American Idol, The Bachelor, Bachelorette, etc. Tabloids aren't even worth buying now. I guess I can go buy the World Weekly News and read about aliens and stuff, at least it's a bit more interesting to read.
This post is jmo.

A really nice idea on paper & in theory, but I doubt it'd work realistically. It'd have too limited an audience & it would be too dated (in terms of topics dealt with etc)
But God knows I'd back up any decision NBC made to do that! I agree with what the original post said. I think shows like "Friends" (Sorry people. Not funny to me) & 'Sex In The City" are guilty of that too.
All these dumb "reality" shows are fixed anyway. I never watched 'Survivor' or any of the spin-offs. Never watched "Marry A Millonaire' or any of the copy cats. Never watched 5 minutes of 'American Idol'. And at the risk of unintentionally lumping in good shows, I don't think most of today's sitcoms are very funny at all. Not as consistently funny as the classics, at least.
Recently, I've been turning to Britcoms for good laughs. Their old and newer shows are genuinely funny w/o being pretentious ("Frasier') or insulting the viewer's intelligence.

The idea brought up in this post is an interesting one and the question remains as to whether or not it would work. One point to be brought up is this: In the summer of 1991, to promote Norman Lear's new comedy, "Sunday Dinner" CBS ran episodes of "All in the Family" in primetime. While the aforementioned SD was quickly put out of its misery due to low ratings, "All in the Family" scored well during each of its airings. Would an older show brought back for at least a limited run in prime time make it today? Perhaps.. Perhaps not.
