Recently on TVLand they did a "double take," of sorts, on a scene in which Sam enters the house via the sliding door, and you can see his hand go through the door (like there's no glass)! IIRC he's on his way to talk to Mike.

Can anybody tell me from which episode this is?

I was wondering the same thing. I have waited a few days to see if anyone would post the answer here, but I'll just go for it:

Sam wasn't in all that many episodes, and doesn't the commercial show him come in and talk to Mr. Brady in the kitchen? I think Mike has second season hair in that commercial. Maybe first season. I've been waiting for the commercial to come on again to be sure, but I haven't seen it. Rats, if I could see all the episodes it would help. I miss the ones that come on at 12 pacific time. A couple Sam episodes have already passed this run of BB, and I couldn't see if the infamous screen incident has already been on.

I tried posting this earlier, but I think something went wrong: in case you haven't found the answer, I think it was Alice's September Song, where she is temporarily reunited with Mark Millard.

Thanks! I still hadn't found the answer lol.

Are you sure it wasn't when Sam was talking to Mike about his "secret" plans to expand his store? What was that episode called? (my memory is failing me!)

Elizabeth, that episode was called "Top Secret," in which Bobby and Cousin Oliver thought Sam was a double agent.

Thanks, James!:) That's one of my favorites, I should have remembered that.

I know why!!!
There was NO glass in the door! Thats why it looked so clear all the time. And characters did sometimes forget they had to pretend the door did have glass in it.

Guys,

OK!! I have to ask this! I have heard that there was no glass in the patio doors. BUT in the episode "Try, Try, Again" where Marcia is helping Jan practice her baton routine, she tosses the baton and you hear glass shatter through the patio door. Carol and Alice duck out of the way and one of them says, "Whew, good thing we saw that coming!" You can than see cracked glass in the patio door. Therefore, does anyone know how they might have filmed that scene?

Jack

As a matter of coincidence, TV Land reran "Top Secret" this morning and will rerun it at 3AM tomorrow morning (CST). This was Sam's last episode, and it finally revealed his last name, which was written on an envelope but never spoken, so if you don't know it you can stay up late or tape the ep to watch this weekend. :)

I'd been trying for years to remember which ep had Alice sticking her tongue out at Sam's display case, where he was selling tongue (beef probably). I finally saw it last time around on TV Land, and it was during his first appearance in the first season, "Sorry, Right Number". Now I can watch the whole ep uncut whenever I choose on the DVD set. I'm especially looking forward to seeing my favorite cut-for-syndication scene, where Bobby and Cindy play the "highly cultured" sounding ("Ew, Mummy!") kids of Dr. & Mrs. Marcia Dentist, while Alice plays their French maid, in the 4th season ep "Love and the Older Man", which one of the Brady Bunch books points out sounds like an ep title from Love, American Style.

I've heard people say that before, but so far nobody has named the episode. Does any onne know which episode it was?

I guess either they don't, it didn't happen, or nobody cares!

Not sure which ep would have Bobby walking through the door, but back around 2006 or 2007 (I'm guessing), in another thread, you brought up the fact that in "My Fair Opponent", Cindy and Jan were caught in another screen door blooper. In response to your post, I posted a screen cap of the scene in question.

Here's the cap... see how Jan's arms are in "front" of Cindy, even though they're both supposed to both be leaning against a screen (or glass) slider :)

I remember that, I would like to know when it was that Bobby ran right through the door. I'm sure that both the kids and Tiger did that on discarded takes but it's hard to believe something that blatant would get through.

I've been kinda watching for scenes where Bobby walks through the door. There are a couple possibilities in the 4th season. Unfortunately, I can't remember which episodes for sure. Both times Bobby walks into the house from "outside." Not sure if the door was already open or not, though. They had a bad habit of leaving the door open. :)
